My daughter and I went to Sands today. I had my usual wonderful stylist - Carrie - who gave me a lovely concave bob - exactly what I wanted. My daughter was being transformed. Her waist-length hair was cut for donation, she had amazing highlights and a lovely collar-length cut. She's delighted. Thank you Sands! X

I having been going SandS for several years and have never had a bad experience. People often comment on my hair and ask where I go. The aveda products smell divine and the staff are friendly and professional.
I would recommend this salon to anyone.
However all this does come at a price - but a good hairdresser is worth their weight in gold so I'm content to pay the prices

Yesterday I visited your salon. The staff were very friendly and John, my hairdresser, gave me a good welcome.
I had never visited this salon before as I live in Yorkshire.
I visit Cardiff about five times a year. Normally I go to another salon
I just needed a wash and blow dry and I have short hair. My hair was fine and I was anticipating the charge
of around £10 that I normally pay. Imagine my horror when I reached the till and was charged £29.50.
I am a pensioner and I didn't have my hair cut.
I left feeling I'd been ripped off.

Very happy with my haircut. Had Beni, she made me feel relaxed and welcome. She consulted me at the start to figure out what I wanted and checked thoughtout to ensure I was happy. All staff friendly and welcoming.

I love Sands. All the staff are very friendly and hair styling is excellent . Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. Always feel rejuvenated upon leaving the salon.

I love going to Sands even for a blow dry. I get looked after with refreshments, head massage and even a hand and arm massage. The stylists are excellent and seem to know how to tame my very thick hair. I am always reccomending to my friends. You can even park right outside. They do my children's hair too.

Have my hair cut and coloured with Stacey, she was lovely and friendly as usual and I'm super happy with my freshly cut and coloured hair

Booked in with Carole after a reccomendation from a friend. Carole listened to exactly what I wanted and offered good advice. I was so happy with the cut and finish! Will definitely return.

I've used both Stuart and Phil over the years that I've been coming to Sands and have to say they're the only people I ever trust to cut my hair! Both are lovely and are great at cutting short hair and giving advice as to on-trend styles. The salon has a really nice vibe - low lighting, friendly, nice selection of teas (the Ayurvedic Comfort Tea is beautiful), and the complimentary aromatherapy shiatsu head massage makes it for me! My only criticism is that it's not cheap and my short hair grows quickly, however you do get what you pay for. I travel from the other side of town to use them they're so good. Recommended.

Another lovely cut and colour by Bridie at Sand in Penylan , The stylists know what suits you and work with you to ensure you are happy with the result. I always leave feeling fabulous and just a little younger!

I have always been made to feel very welcome and relaxed on all of my visits. The arm massages are heavenly and the festive mince pie and juice was a lovely touch. All of the staff seem very good and I've never been disappointed with a haircut. Highly recommend!

I tried Sands as I use Aveda products at home. I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with my colour and my hair is in great condition. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

I visited Sands for the first time yesterday along with my very thick and difficult hair. I saw Carrie and she did a wonderful job. I have had a succession of 4 poor cuts at 'top' salons in the last year but this time, I got a good cut! It was no problem that Carrie needed more time (i actually took up 2 appointment slots) and the overall service was really great. Will definitely be returning

My hair colour was exactly as I wanted, very friendly and genuine staff.

Late review, but I can confirm that my colour has lasted longer than I thought it would.

Friendly staff made me feel comfortable. My hairdresser listened to what I wanted, which is so important in a hairdresser. Really happy with the outcome, would definitely recommend. I also thought the salon was nice and well presented.

Stuart is an excellent hairdresser and always rises to the challenge of my color requests. He always gives great advice and I trust him to do anything he likes to my hair! I have never been disappointed.

I always love coming to Sands. The treatment is always well worth it and I'm always pleased with the quality and finish of the cut. It's taken me ages to find somewhere which cuts curly hair successfully and I've not been disappointed at Sands.
