Contemporary Salons Harrogate

I always look forward to having my hair done at Contemporary. I totally trust Stephen, which is huge, love the chat, banter and his time and thought about what to try next, it means alot. Also, the wrap around service of massages, drinks etc makes this a great experience and real treat, I will always highly recommend Stephen and Contemporary to friends and family.

Been coming to contemporary for over 15 years what’s not to like!

I’ve been a client for more than a dozen years and have always had very good service. The hairdressers really care and want the client to be happy. I feel very comfortable here. Some salons feel rather intimidating, but not here. All the staff are are lovely.

Chris loved his experience, having not been to a barber/salon for 18 years Stephen made him feel so comfortable and happy with his cut! He has been back for a 2nd time today!

Was made to feel welcome from the start. A lovely experience from head massage, washing of hair to styling. Stephen advice me and the end result was perfect. Booked next appointment.

Love going to the salon to have my hair cut by Stephen. The girls make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Massages, complimentary drink, feel so relaxed & pampered when finished plus my hair looks great.

I'm very precious about my hair and I need to trust a stylist to listen to what I want but be realistic with me! Stephen is fantastic, he listened to exactly what I wanted, but made my hair look a million times more amazing than I could have dreamed! The staff are welcoming, happy and great fun.

I have been going to Contempo hair salon for several years & always found the staff very friendly, professional & courteous. I love that when you are seated, you are offered a complimentary mini massage & a drink. The prices are fair & advice on hair care is 5 star. Sian always does a first rate job & I can always rely on her for new ideas & suggestions.

He is doing my hair, in Gemma’s absence and I was very worried about having someone different but he was charming and did a wonderful job.

I’ve been happily frequenting the salon for over 10 years. Sian did a fabulous job with my last cut and beautiful, vibrant high/lowlights.

Always a good experience, Chloe always cuts my hair exactly as I want. The salon and staff are super.

I usually have Gemma but Stephen has stepped up. Lovely hair colour and good cut. Last time Stephen had to answer the phone and speak to a walk in because of lack of junior assistance. It must be stressful but he was unfailingly polite and helpful.

As a long term customer I had no qualms about returning to the Salon after each lockdown. Due to Gemma’s really bad fall and being unable to continue with her own clients, Stephen, Chloe and Sian are keeping the Professional and very Safe running of the Salon going to the usual high standard it has always being. I normally have my hair doing by Gemma but in her absence Sian is doing a really good job... very thorough and continues to be her usual friendly self... as are Stephen and Chloe. I’m definately happy with the results and always look forward to my next appointment.

Very friendly staff who always offer a professional service. Even though my usual stylist was away Stephen still managed to recreate my same style.

Reccomended by my daughter and Chloe did'nt disapoint. A couple of piks and a conversation was all it took to get the style I wanted and very pleased with it.Only 4* for atmosphere as I was one of the 1st clients.

I always go to Stephen to get my hair cut he is brilliant always friendly and there to put a smile on your face. All the staff at contemporary harrogate are fantastic I can't fault any of them at all

Absolutely amazing. I was in tears after an accident with my hair at home and Stephen made everything better. He completly saved the day for me, and I also have recommended him to my mum also....she also loves him! Hah! Thank you Stephen!
I’ve now also switched to proper salon professional hair shampoo and conditioner and I’ll never look back.

Really relaxing appointment feeling great when I leave

After being in lockdown since March, I plucked up courage to and get my hair cut. I selected ***** although I have also had my hair cut by Steve. ***** seemed distracted and my hair cut suffered, she tried to blame the wearing of a mask but when I asked how many clients had suffered my fate she said none. ***** offered to "have a look" at my hair, but I am concerned that she would not be able to improve it so I have made an appointment at another salon who I know will make a better job of my sad hair cut. Short on one side and long on the other, with long hairs left over from previous style, is not a good look. Won't be going there again.

I'm very happy with the experience at Contemporary Harrogate. I've never been to a hairdresser's in Harrogate but Sian advised me at all times and understood immediately the haircut I was looking for. Many thanks to Contemporary and especially to Sian :)

Gemma has been with the salon for a long time and always does my hair exactly as I would like. If advice is sought, she's happy to oblige. I come back to the salon again and again as I never fail to get good service, from hair washing to head massage to styling.

Gemma is well supported by her team and she and the others are unfailingly polite. I see no reason to change.

My most recent visit was the weekend before Christmas; even though the salon was very busy the level of service was maintained regarding: welcome, consultation, shampooing, neck/shoulder massage, cut and finish. Chloe is always very professional; she cuts my hair just as I like it and she is friendly and sociable. I was very pleased with the result of my visit and it was a treat to have a complimentary glass of wind since it was the Festive Season.
