I came in yesterday and had an absolutely lovely experience. Shauna did exactly the colour I wanted. Throughout my time with Laura she was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately I’m not as happy with the finish as I was the last time I came to Harrington’s. The length is extremely short compared to what I was hoping for. I know that my hair is very curly but I think when getting cut, it wasn’t considered that my hair would bounce up. It’s now above shoulder length since putting my curls back in which is definitely not what I was after :( . Also I mentioned I didn’t really want the diffuser used on my hair to finish it as it usually makes my hair go frizzy and uncontrollable, but one still did get used and the result wasn’t what I’d hoped for.
I’m not wanting to cause any problems from this review, I just want to be honest about feeling quite unhappy with the end result as I had saved up to get this appointment. I didn’t say there and then that I wasn’t happy at the time because I just wasn’t sure how to, but I had the best overall customer service experience. The end product just wasn’t what I’d hoped for :(

I am very happy with my colour and all of the team are very friendly with great service - it was a great experience up until the end of the colour appointment. However Haringtons policy/ standard service for colour is no drying! If you’re lucky (and it appears I usually am!) there’s a junior free and able to rough dry if you’re not going on to another service. Otherwise you’re welcome to dry your own hair (!) or leave with unbrushed soaking wet hair. Or book and pay for a full blow dry. Having just spent over £100 having colour done I don’t think this feels like professional service, it means the colour can’t be checked properly and it isn’t great marketing for a salon on the high street to have clients walking out looking like they’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards! I am not expecting styling - that comes with paying for a blow dry separately but atleast a rough dry should be included in the colour service. Not the salons fault - they were short staffed and in fact today one of the very lovely stylists stepped in and dried my hair while she was waiting for her client - but the policy/ standard service really needs to change. If someone hadn’t stepped in to dry today I would not be going back for colour - I have had my hair coloured at Haringtons for over 10 years so that would have been very sad. When friends who have been to Haringtons have shared this previously I didn’t believe them as I have always had at least a rough dry, often a thorough one. It seems I’ve been lucky/ the salon usually manage to dry even though it’s not part of the service. It’s very awkward for them to explain they can’t dry and I would hate anyone to get in to trouble for drying if they’re not supposed to. Please offer a service which matches the quality/ prices of your salon.
