About us

Located in The Mailbox, Birmingham’s premier luxury shopping centre, the Nicky Clarke Hairdressers Birmingham Salon opened in March 2004 and quickly established its status as the city’s leading hair salon.

The salon team continues to go from strength to strength and regularly heads up Birmingham’s most high profile fashion shows, including Harvey Nichols’ seasonal fashion shows and the hugely popular Style Birmingham. Our hairdressers are proud to provide Birmingham with outstanding, beautiful hair treatments and services in styling and colouring.

I’m so disappointed about the service that I received on 9th of December. The lady who washed my hair needs more training because she didn’t know how to do it and after that the lady who blow dry my hair, she used dirty comb and I asked her to clean them first and she wasn’t able to do the style that I asked for.

Hi Gilda, I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service you received on your last visit to the salon. Apologies for the fact that you sat in a section and there was a brush with hair on it. I can assure you that the brush would never have been used on your hair and was removed and cleaned as soon as it was noticed.
The day in question was a very busy day and we had fewer assistants than usual, however cleanliness is always at the top of our agenda and we always strive to achieve a tidy and clean environment.
I understand that you were not booked in for a professional blow dry and that you were booked in for a rough/blast dry, this is a free service in which we dry and smooth your hair out. If a more elaborate style is required then please book in for a professional blow dry. It is also difficult to emulate a style once your hair has already been dried.
All our assistants are fully trained to shampoo hair.

I returned to Nicky Clarke for the first time in 3 years as I now work in London and it is now more convenient for me to get my haircut closer to my office. After receiving a call to say that my normal stylist had broken his collar bone, I was given the option of cancelling my appointment or have my appointment with Sunny who is a senior director but would honour the price that I would pay for my normal stylist. I took this option and enjoyed my experience with Sunny who cut my hair really nicely and was really friendly.

Harvey the hair magician blended out my old mushroom cut (given to me by a different salon) and my waves are now looking amazing. He also toned our the brass in my balayage and I'm all chocolatey and ready for the cooler months. Plus he showed me how to properly style my waves and my gosh...I'm almost curly!

Harvey did a cut and blow for both my teenage girls and they felt like a million bucks. Lots of swishing and selfies.. and they look gorgeous. Also a very relaxing experience- they never feel intimidated. (13 and 16)

I love Jess from the very first cut and been with her again multiple times since then. She has a great taste and suggestion. She does remember how different my previous hair cut was and suggest what’s next hair style I should go for, and of course outcome is always so pleasant.
