I hadn’t been to a salon in years, so I was a little nervous, but the team at It’s Science made me feel completely at ease from the moment I walked in. Gemma was absolutely fantastic—she didn’t judge me at all for cutting and dyeing my own hair, and instead, she worked her magic to make it look incredible. Every single stylist there was so welcoming and encouraging, and for the first time in a long time, I left feeling truly confident. My hair looks amazing, and the experience gave me the boost I really needed. I can’t thank the ladies at It’s Science enough! Happy 6th Birthday!!

A lovely, warm welcome at It's Science and I love the decor, especially the mirror-free concept which, together with Louise's gentle hair washing, made the whole experience pleasantly relaxed for me. Despite my somewhat vague explanation, Millie did a great cut, capturing exactly the look that I wanted! I appreciated her clear advice on caring for and styling my new cut too. I'll definitely be back.

The salon itself is a fab place to spend a few hours. The staff are all friendly and super knowledgeable. I'm blown away by the quality of my hair colour today and the attention to detail.

Very odd atmosphere in this salon. They seem anxious and are certainly not welcoming. It's like you've bothered them by trying to get an appointment and they want you out asap! I've tried twice now. The first time on the phone, I secured an appointment I had a colour which washed out in one wash, despite being assured it would last about 3 months. I returned just to get time to talk to someone about what to do about my hair (didn't mention the unsuccessful colour application) but have been rebuffed claiming they are too busy to talk, despite an almost empty salon. It's hard to understand. Perhaps it's because of my appearance? I'm an executive director but choose not to look corporate. Strange because they've got this colourful exterior, advertising vegan products which offers a sense that they are inclusive and doing things differently. I don't think they are. All just show. I won't recommend them.

Had a great time at the salon today and will be returning regularly. I loved that there was a no mirror option made everything a lot more relaxed and loved the big reveal at the end. Millie was great start to finish she was friendly, chatty and was amazing at talking me through the process and options. She got my hair looking exactly what I wanted and I LOVE it!

Millie is amazing! I always feel so good after visiting the salon. She has great advice and experience with cuts and colours. The salon is a great environment too - I love sitting at the table for my cut.

Really good hairdressers. I explained what I want, and I have been listened to. At the end I had my hair braided beautifully by one of the other team members.

Tried Its science for the first time today after being recommended by a friend and was so satisfied with the service I received. Staff were friendly and competent and the salon is beautiful, tidy and really is unique. My haircut was beautiful and considering it was my first visit, I felt comfortable here instantly. Staff were welcoming, chatty and make you feel good about yourself. This will definitely be my new regular.

Wow. Loved the energy of the salon when I stepped in. Millie greeted me with a big smile sat me down and asked me what I wanted. Explained I hadn’t had a proper haircut in 2 years. Millie was super professional and it was so lovely to have someone actually listen to you and what you would like with your hair. She gave me fabulous advice when asked and was happy to advise when I was chatting about my daughter’s hair. The salon has such a relaxed and professional atmosphere. Love the fact you can choose to sit at the big rectangular table with no mirrors or at an individual seat in front of a mirror. I chose the table and found this a great experience.

With this being my first time I booked just a cut but I wanted a bit of a change. Gemma talked me through what I fancied and how it would fit in with my busy life. She was so kind and encouraging and I fully trusted her advice and vision.
I came away very happy and ready to book in again for my colour next time.
The environment is wonderful and friendly and the mirror less option is just lovely.

I actually really liked not having a mirror in front of me too and I am beyond pleased with my haircut! Would definitely recommend!

I have never had an experience quite like it. This salon has the most warm and inviting atmosphere and the staff are all genuinely lovely. The idea for the table in the middle is genius because I’m a talker so being able to chat to the other customers made it that much better. I was being brought tea on tap and and just felt pampered the whole time. Although it was expensive I can definitely say you 100% get what you pay for and then some.
The colour I was given was incredible and I came away feeling like a million pounds. I can see why their WiFi password is hair wizards. Thank you so much guys I will be back! Xx

I always feel at ease at the salon…they chat to me when I’m not working and leave me be when I am. They just instinctively know how to adjust the mood to suit yours…and yet it’s a little bit kooky…but that’s the magic…it just works…and then the hair? Well that’s always fabulous. Without a doubt the best salon in Swansea ⭐️

Well, after a lot of research, I chose to come to Gemma for my first ever curly cut, and am so delighted that I did! She is a font of curly knowledge and exactly what this fifty-four year old woman - who has only had curly hair since I embraced my natural greys last year - needed. Her experience with hair is evident, her explanations thorough (and so much more understandable than any curly girl on social media), and she spent a lot of time with me, discussing my current haircare regime - as well as giving tips on what I can do to make my curls more manageable and luxuriant. She was brilliant!

And, as well as all that, the salon itself was the most friendly and least intimidating I've ever been to - and I've been to a lot! Loved that us customers sat around a giant wooden table, with mugs of coffee, and not a mirror in sight (a bonus when you've a body whose contours are similar to a cottage loaf!), as the genial stylists worked on making us look - and more importantly feel - fabulous. We chatted, laughed, and it was genuinely the most enjoyable, and relaxed, experience that I've ever had in a hairdressers.

This was a five star experience on all counts. And I'm really looking forward to my second appointment next week when Gemma will be doing part 2 of her curly process - the curl-by-curl cut. Simply epic! 👏👏👏

Would recommend this hairdresser to everyone!! I had Gemma to do a complety different haircut on myself showed her the inspiration and she made it happen. It's been a few weeks since and still my hair looks incredible it's honestly the best haircut experience I have ever had her work is second to none!! Lovely welcoming hairdressers and such a lovely person too. This is definitely my go to hairstyle now I'm overjoyed thank you so so much gem xx

I always get great service and but I was blown away listening to how the team engaged with a customer who was really struggling with her appearance and self esteem. It's always possible to sit in front of a mirror but their default is the no mirror haircut. Perfect for those of us who struggle to look in the mirror when having a haircut (or any other time!).

I’ve been going to its science for the last twelve months every two months. I usually have the same thing done each time. But today I asked for a change and Millie didn’t disappoint. She gave great advice on what my options for colour and change of hairstyle would best suit my age/face shape etc. I am really delighted with the result and love the new colour and style. I always recommend Its Science to everyone! Millie is great, she listened to what I asked and did exactly what I wanted! The atmosphere is lovely and very friendly as though you knew everyone around the table already! Very personalised and I had a really nice afternoon with a prefect end result.

After a few years of unsuccessful salon trips, I decided to try It’s Science for their ‘curly cuts’ treatment. Gemma was amazing, very knowledgeable and explained everything with love and care without a hint of patronising. She made sure to understand my hair history, how I do my hair now, and to work with me to get a healthy curl back. The cut she has done for my hair has already made me so happy, and I cannot wait to go back for my follow up appointment.

The facilities were really nice and the other staff there really lovely to talk to. Communal feel, chatting to other clients, which I’ve never experienced before. Absolutely stunning experience!

I searched the Internet looking for a curly hair specialist specialist for a while as I was nervous about taking my curly haired daughter for a hair cut, I'm so pleased that we found It's science, Gemma is so knowledgeable, she talked my daughter through how to look after her hair and what brushes to use, My daughter showed her a picture of the style she wanted and she cut it exactly to her specifications.
