Rene is the best barber/stylist I’ve ever been too. She understands your hair and what you’re aiming to achieve. I’ve gone from growing out my jet black home dyed hair with grey roots and each time the cut complemented the colour. Have shpulder length hair, needed ends trimming but usual place was shut that day so decided to go voodou, its expensive but you can tell the difference, haircut was spot on, may consider going again in future as i am v happy with the result, 5 star all round have given 4 for value as it is pricey so i feel 4 star is a fair reflection as i wouldnt normally pay so much however i would say it is worth it if you want that extra kick

This was my first time at your salon and I came here because I thought you may have experience with curly hair. I ended up leaving disappointed and ripped off, £69 to be rushed and no effort put into it whatsoever. They just seemed to wanna be done and go home, I get it was about 5pm by this point, but to pay that much and as a first customer I just expected a little bit more.

It’s taken me years to find a stylist after loosing all my hair to illness in 2021, Frankie is absolutely amazing at what she does and such a truly lovely person as well. I am disabled and she doesn’t miss a beat helping me around the salon and ensuring I am comfortable, a credit to the salon 😍

Gina has given me a full fringe twice now and I have really curly hair (3A/3B mix)! The first time was 3 years ago and I knew I had to choose her again this time. She did a dry cut today which helped shape the curls and see the bounce back, getting the perfect shape! I am SO made up! All the staff were so so lovely and complimentary of my cut and curls and I always feel super comfortable at Voodou! Although I don’t get my hair cut too often (I forget how much time has passed!) So what a challenge my hair has been for Frankie been coming to the salon for over 18 months and we have done every colour under the sun now! But it was time to go to a natural more sophisticated look and it’s blown my mind 🤯 I’m a natural brunette but avoided the colour for at least 20 years as always seen it as boring and dull. Knowing my hair needed some health and time to recuperate I decided it was time to take the plunge to brunette. Frankie walked me through what is achievable and was so calm and collected whilst I was nervous of the outcome with having blue, red and grey hair! Seriously though it’s out of this world….I can now look at myself in the mirror and feel confident walking around. Thank you so much Frankie you have honestly performed a miracle both on my hair and my mental wellbeing! See you next month 🥰

Disappointing experience

I recently had a disappointing experience at the salon on May 15th, where I had an appointment scheduled with Nicole. Unfortunately, I was running late, so Renee attended to me instead. I was getting my hair done for my sister's wedding, and the service I received was far from satisfactory.

Rene rushed through the styling process and falsely claimed that my clip-in extensions were fake. When I asked for my hair to be styled over the extensions and curled, she insisted that they were burning and that they weren’t real. This was particularly frustrating because my sister's stylist had worked with the same extensions after leaving the salon, blending them seamlessly with my hair without any issues—proving they were indeed real and did not burn.

The hairstyle turned out awful, and I ended up having to get my hair redone by the same stylist who had done my sister's bridal hair, which was a much better experience. Due to this overall experience, I will not be returning to this salon and will instead seek other options in the city. I left feeling disappointed, especially given the importance of the occasion.

There was a mix-up with my booking and Scott, who I had booked with, was not available, but they managed to still fit me in with Hayley.
I was gutted it wasn't Scott because he did an amazing job previously. However, Hayley was fantastic! She listened to what I wanted, offered advice, and did an amazing job of cutting and styling my hair. I was very pleased and left the salon feeling much better than I did when I arrived!
