Avant Garde - 14 High Street Hereford is a brand new stunning salon to join the high street in 2025 right next to boots in the best location, The salon was previously the award-winning Peter Prosser Salon. With it's very own Artistic Team, super talented team of stylists and a fantastic reputation, Avant Garde have simply pushed the salon to the next level with a state of the art salon and new location come and see us the ultimate relaxation in our backwash with tranquil water wall and of course the top-to-toe massage chairs all Avant Garde salons have. We pride ourselves on providing all clients with a memorable, relaxing and indulgent visit, and the team will work with you to ensure you have just that.

All the staff at Avant Garde are so friendly and welcoming. Dawn who has been doing my hair for almost 2 years now is incredibly talented. I feel really lucky to have found a hairdresser like Dawn who knows exactly what I like and makes me feel amazing. I leave the salon and immediately get compliments. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Am so pleased I was recommended Avant Garde by a friend,have been coming here now since before Christmas and have always received 1st class service! Beth is just the loveliest lady! Friendly,professional and an amazing colourist(if that’s even a word!) My hair is always cut and coloured exactly how I imagine it, and I always come out feeling a million dollars!! The salon staff are aiways welcoming which creates a pleasant atmosphere.
The new owners have lost some of the individual touches which made the salon special. No tissues available in front of customers, no fabric towels, no fresh coffee and no magazines.
The prices have been increased several times since covid but theses are costs which have been saved.
I am a loyal customer who continues to support the staff I have known for many years. I feel no loyalty to the owners.

Firstly, thank you for the feedback we appreciate the time it takes but it helps us going forward to look into area's clients may have issues with.
Your points are valid but I would like to reassure you that we do have access to magazines for all our clients. It is through a digital format and on your next appointment if you wish, the girls on reception will happily talk you through this.
We are also still offering fresh coffee made from coffee beans, so I apologize if you didn't receive this on your last appointment. Having a fresh coffee is normally one of the first offerings to our clients so once again i apologize if this wasn't the case.
During the height of Covid we decided (like many other salons) to use disposable towels to ensure every client gets a clean fresh towel which is 100% biodegradable, more hygienic and means we have less laundry to do, meaning the staff are on the salon floor more.

I want to thank you for supporting us as a salon and the staff here at Avant Garde. I hope your next visit is a better experience.

What an absolute dream of an experience. I haven’t been to a salon in a while and honestly from the moment I stepped through the door to leaving it was just so lovely.
