About us

WISPERS HAIR & NAILS

Established in 1980, Wispers offers a wealth of experience in the hair profession. Our modern Hair and Nails salon, based in the historic Wickham Square, has a fantastic reputation for providing an exceptionally high level of service by some of the most talented Hair Professionals in the South.
Our mission to constantly improve what we do and exceed our clients’ expectation, has never changed. The team undergo extensive and regular training and self-development programs with leading professional brands such as L’Oreal and Kerastase as well as other acadamies. This enables us to produce results that are always of the highest standards.
We feel passionate about keeping up with with all of the latest trends and developments in Hair and Nail Technology. This allows our clients to benefit from new techniques, products and styles that we tailor to suit each client and their individual needs. We offer new technologies such as L’Oreal SmartBond, Kerastase FusioDose and Kerastraight, so please ask your stylist for more details. The salon is equipped with the latest equipment such as Ceramic Rollerballs which ensure the best possible colour treatments as well as optimising the moisture in your scalp during the treatment to ensure you leave the salon with your expectations exceeded.
For your comfort and relaxation, we also provide iPads at the Development Stations for your use during your visit and our alcohol license enables us to offer you a wide range of complimentary refreshments during your stay with us. As you would hope and expect, we are complying with all Government and WHO guidelines for our industry and in many cases we have gone beyond the requirements to ensure the safety of our clients, team members and local community.

Sam has been my hairdresser for years and honestly I wouldn’t use anyone else! Not only is the cut always exactly as I picture it I have my hair coloured too. Not easy blending a ginger down to black but she achieves this every time with perfection. Hair by Sam is always immaculate. She’s extremely talented!

This was my first visit to Whispers and I have to say it was an excellent experience. The staff were all welcoming and professional, my stylist Sam took her time to understand what I was looking for and made me feel very relaxed. Small touches like the drinks menu made it feel like a more luxurious experience. Sam has done a fantastic job on my cut and colour and I’m booked back in for 8 weeks time.

Wispers is such a friendly salon. Great reception, such helpful people. No parking ticket machines working so Joe sorted out a note and that was popped in my car. Very pleased with my hair colour and cut. It is my first time to work with Joe and he is charming and great fun. I usually see Alex but she is on holiday. Very pleasant experience, absolutely fabulous stylist who is attentive, talented and very skilled, she put me at ease discussed and listened to comments on my hair style and all round made an excellent job, I always feel good after a visit. The salon is clean and everyone is super nice.

Decided to go for a more natural look but still keeping the golden locks, Balayage is super gorgeous ? my hair is so soft and shiny ❤️ It’s a technically hard job on someone that’s got really dark roots but wow ? Hayley has worked her magic again, from roots to the ends it’s blended so beautifully ☺️ I’m super happy and definitely converted to balayage ?
