An extraordinary experience: from booking my appointment to the vibe when you walk in to the amazing hair wash & massage… and then the consultation & hair cut which is on a completely different level of expertise. Local to me in East Lothian, easy parking, highest hygiene standards… blown away! I’m not going to go anywhere else from now on unless I really have to nor am I going to put up with the shabby treatment and sub standard results I’ve endured time and again from some salons on my doorstep in North Berwick. Well done Chapter One Hair Spa Haddington team, you have a new fan!

I had a wonderful first appointment with James at Chapter One in Haddington. Firstly it is situated in a beautiful historic building and is fitted out to provide a luxury salon experience, there is even a massage chair which provides a relaxing element to getting your hair washed. James was very happy to discuss a new style option I had in mind for a bob with a fringe. My haircut is absolutely fabulous and I will definitely be returning as a regular customer. I’m converted. Thank you.

Natalie re-coloured my very blonde hair to a more warmer blonde… she listened to what I wanted and the result was better than I expected. Great service…. Lovely hair wash with a massage via a chair too!!

I’ve been getting my haircut in a different salon for 10 years now. But due to COVID/not travelling to Edinburgh I was looking for something more local. Given I had put my trust in somewhere for 10 years I was slightly apprehensive about my first appointment at Chapter One, but I had no need to be. The atmosphere is fantastic, the building is beautiful and the staff went over and above to make it an all round enjoyable experience…….and I also got a really great hair cut from James, alongside some great chat! A regular customer gained for hopefully the next 10 years at least

I went to the salon with very badly cut and highlighted hair, I was very embarrassed with myself. James listened to me, I showed him a couple of pictures, and then he gave me one of the best cuts I think I’ve ever had!
I returned two days later to have the colour fixed, once again he listened, and assured me he would fix the badly highlighted hair.
Oh my god! He certainly did “fix it”. My hair looks the best it’s looked in a long time, I absolutely love it.
James you are amazing! Look forward to seeing you at my next appointment and thank you for making me feel “normal” again!

I came in for my 10.30 appointment and I was happy to see that the salon was busy and understandably I had to wait a bit for James to finish with his previous client. I don't get my hair cut a lot, so my hair was needing a helping hand to feel better. James was great and definitely knew what he was doing. I'll definitely come back and maybe add more blonde in my next appointment.
The only thing I wish had been done is that if I had been offered a tea or coffee while I waited but it really wasn't a big deal.
