I visited Patrick’s salon 10 days ago as a new client.
The positives :-
I was met by the very attentive junior staff , who conducted a tour of the salon which is beautiful.
The sinks are very comfortable and and the refreshments plentiful .
My stylist conducted a through consultation and as a new client I also benefited from Patrick’s input.
A plan of my visit was settled on and I was looking forward to the transformation.
The Negatives :-
My colouring did not go according to plan which resulting in me having a orange streak down the front of my hair :( , what followed was a lengthy process to rectify it , which resulted in my hair being dyed n re dyed , the lengthy time extension clearly had a knock on effect to my stylists other clients and although she remained very professional and calm on the surface it was clear that there was some swan like panic in the salon .
I was due to go out in the evening which I had made them aware of but sadly after six hours in the salon I never got home until 9pm .
stylist asked if she could take some pictures at the end of the appointment as Patrick would like to see the result ( he had long since left the salon ).
I am very happy with my cut and although the colour is fine at the moment my concern is that after a few more washes my orange streak maybe back!!!
Most upsetting of all was the fact that none of the inconvenience caused to me was recognised at the till and 100% of the bill was requested and settled.
This is not a cheap salon and I have no problem paying for A* service but this is not what I received on this occasion .
Megan was amazing and professional from start to finish. She was very informative in regards to managing curly hair and which products and techniques to use to achieve the perfect curl.
I'm now delighted to have someone in town that can achieve the Curly Cut ✂️.
Had a lovely experience. Got a cut wash and blow dry . Love how it turned out ??

I got my colour and cut refreshed by Sharon today, Sharon is very good at her job , I am very Happy with it , it turned out very nice .Aoise done excellent work in the wash area.

I visited the Salon 10 days ago and was met by very warm and friendly junior staff .
The positives : The salon is beautiful and I enjoyed the personal guided tour as a new client , I found the basins and chair very comfortable and refreshments plentiful.
My consultation with Irene for a Colour and cut was through and I felt she had good knowledge of products used and advised me accordingly.
I also was lucky enough to have Patrick’s input/ advise that differed slightly to Irene’s .
The Negatives : After trying some lighting foils as advised by Patrick it was clear that we had not developed the desired result - a very long story short my hair had to be re - coloured in a bid to cover the Orange streaks we had achieved.
This clearly caused a lengthy delay ( 6 hours in salon ) and had a knock on effect to Irene’s other clients .
Irene / Patrick did their best to manage the situation on the surfaces but it did feel like there was an element of panic going on .
My greatest disappointment was that the lengthy delays and hiccups were not recognised at the till , full payment was requested and paid . - I was due out on the Fri day night at 8pm ( which I made Patrick aware of ) but didn’t get out of the salon till 8.15 ?.
All in all I feel my time and inconvenience should definitely been taken into consideration when the bill was being drawn up .
Irene took some pictures of my hair for Patrick to see the next day as he had long since left the salon and I was overall happy with how my hair looked when leaving the salon , However my hair has been washed twice since and I think before long I’m going to be orange again on the lifted streaks and will need to get this rectified .
Sadly not quite what I was expecting from a top end salon .
I had a wonderful experience from the moment I entered the salon to leaving it. A warm and friendly welcome was given by the staff and the consultation and cut from Keira was completely tailored to me with expert advice given on styling. I couldn’t recommend this salon more!
I have been going to Kiera now for many years and she has my total trust. She is so professional and so knowledgeable and there is no such thing as an off day. Every visit is first class. She’s definitely in a league all of her own. Thank you Kiera.

I am apprehensive about covering my grey hair because I might end up having unhealthy hair as my hair is already prone to occasional alopecia. Still, I'm so happy I did because, with proper hair colouring, shampoo, conditioner and treatment, my hair remains healthy and shiny after my hair dye. Siobhan always gives me a great haircut, and this time she did well in covering my greys. She always listens to what I want, discusses her opinion and general direction, and makes it happen. A very talented hairdresser. Overall, an excellent first-dye experience in Patric Gildea.

FYI, I had no issue with the stylist Bronagh.
I booked my appointment clearly requesting the quiet area as I had to bring my baby, as I had done so in the past. Upon arrival was made feel quite unwelcome and was obvious from the start my baby wasn't welcome in the salon. After a 20 minute wait I was brought to the quiet room. Manager informed me I wasn't getting a full head of highlights and only allowed 15 packets due to the baby present and in future to be mindful of baby safety. Had my past experiences in PG not been perfect with baby present I would not have questioned bringing a baby to the appointment. However, at the time of booking had it been made clear bringing a baby again was an issue for the salon I could easily have rescheduled. I offered to leave the appointment before starting if the harmful chemicals would create a danger to the child but I was permitted to proceed. Thankfully baby stayed quiet throughout but the whole experience felt very uncomfortable. If there was a policy change since my last appointment, I was not informed and would of course have been happy to comply. At the time of booking or prior to my arrival had it been overlooked would have been the time to raise the issue, not after travelling an hour+ to be there.
I won't return.
Firstly we wish to apologise that you felt uncomfortable. We are the only salon in Ireland that has designed and created a family journey for our guests and their children. We have a specific area allocated to support guests bring in their children. , Baby changing facilities in our bathrooms.
We have in the past and at all times went to great lengths to support you in opening a private area to support your hair service and continue to offer this.
Unfortunately we made the wrong decision on how we made you aware of our health and safety policy change that was only made that week in a meeting due to a serious incident that happened in another salon not connected to us. A baby got a splash of peroxide on their skin and it caused a burn.
Unfortunately we had to introduce our policy that we are not allowing baby’s to be present anymore or children under 5 years of age when parents are having a Color service for their health and safety , But they can be present for a cutting service.
We felt that rather than call you it was better to speak to you present and offer you a express service on that day but obviously you disagree and we accept that.
You have to understand that we only had you and your baby’s health and safety at heart.
May we just say that we understand your annoyance on this sensitive issue ,
your review is a little harsh on what we set out to do in a health and safety situation. We also are taken back that you say you will not return after all the past support that you have received on you visits.
We will not be replying to any further comments ,
Once again health and safety is our priority and we wish you all the best in the future.

Siobhan was so lovely and I really like the cut she did for me. She listened to my concerns and did exactly what I wanted. The girl who washed my hair Nicole was also really friendly and I got a lovely head massage. I will say though it took a strongly long time. Landed into salon at 5:10pm for my 5:15pm appointment. Didn't get brought to the chair until 5:35pm. And I wasn't leaving the salon until 6:50pm. I know Siobhan was busy with other clients but I've never had a haircut take so long.

A visit to refresh my balayage has helped to restore healthy shine and bounce to my hair. Bronagh offered great advice on how to nourish my hair at home too.

Staff are professional, friendly and put me at ease, especially important for me as well his was my first visit. My stylist, Anita, was lovely and took time discussing my hair and style of cut, which I was absolutely delighted with. It’s obviously a great team and I would certainly recommend to anyone who is looking for a professional salon that goes above and beyond providing excellent customer experience.
