About us

TONI&GUY Newcastle-upon-Tyne opened in the city centre in 1995, recently relocating to Haymarket. We are committed to providing the ultimate salon experience, paying great attention to customer service.

Our talented team of stylists and technicians are on hand to give you expert advice and create hair that is individual and easy to live with, interpreting fashion trends with versatile wearable styles. Members of our salon are part of the TONI&GUY Session Team and have worked alongside the International Artistic Team on catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, bringing the latest trends from the catwalk to our clients.

We offer many additional services including Bridal and Occasion hair and the NanoKeratin Smoothing blow-dry. Our wide range of haircare products include label.m, Kerastase, GHD, L’Oreal and Tangle Teezer to keep your hair salon perfect until your next visit.

STRENGTH IN STYLE
Strength in Style is now available in this salon, offering people affected by cancer specialist support and advice on hair care. This service includes styling pre, during and post treatment hair, and wig personalisation with the option to purchase synthetic and human hair wigs. Over the years I’ve gone to various barbers and salons and never found one that consistently gave me the cut I wanted nor the level of service I wanted or expected. Thankfully I’ve now found Matthew at Toni&Guy. Every time I leave the salon I come out pleased with my haircut and always receive compliments on it. Thank you so much Matthew!

Good service today. Lovely attention from reception to wash to cut, all staff were attentive.Hair was well discussed and informative. Was an experience I would always go back to. Loved my hair massage but wanted it for a bit longer! Great cut.

Made a appointment here for cut and blow wave ,on arrival was told appointment had been made just for blow dry .
So hence I Was rushed through my appointment as next customer was arriving I was not asked at any point how I wanted my hair dried / styled came out with huge curls ( I like my hair straight) after washing my hair myself I realised I had just had a trim and not the cut I had asked for ,they were supposed to be doing a colour test for me but in their hurry to get me out to see the next customer they forgot ,
I did complain to salon and in fairness they did offer for me to go back to salon for a free haircut but I did not feel comfortable with this and a name like Toni and guy should not happen in the first place

Outrageous price

I was not going to make a scene in the salon, but I am absolutely furious that I wasn’t told prior that it would cost me £125 for what I can basically say was highlights and a cut. I’ve gone home and see no difference other than I’ve had it cut. What if I couldn’t pay that much? It’s an outrageous sum of money to leave with basically the same hair. It was cheaper for me to go from ginger to blonde for gods sake! May I suggest you tell clients before hand that the cost is astronomically high? Isn’t that meant to happen??

I had such a lovely time this morning at Tony and Guy. Tanya understood straight away what I wanted, suggested adjustments based on my hair type and gave me an awesome cut. She made sure that I was totally happy with the cut before I left and was happy to do more to make sure it was perfect. And relaxing in the massage chair whilst my hair was being washed was amazing! I went to Toni and Guy for the first time tonight to get my hair coloured and cut and I’m extremely happy with how it went : ) Scott did my colour and it was a lovely ballyage which he gave his advice on and then I had Tanya cutting my hair afterwards and right now it just looks fabulous! Everyone was really nice and Tanya was even giving me tips on how to never have a bad hair day ever again haha! It was a lovely experience, thank you so much! X

Tanya was great and really managed to do what I wanted and in a way that corrected some issues. She seemed to take genuine interest in the conversations too. The staff on reception were great and very cheerful and were quick to jump to make sure everything was okay when I popped back later for a patch test. The assistant lady with the glasses gave a great massage and the salon was emasculate.

My first visit to this salon as a New Year's Eve treat. Going to a new hairdressers can be daunting, like going to dentist. But from the minute I walked in I felt welcomed. Tanya talked me through everything from how I liked my hair, to products and even a quick tutorial for hair drying novices Tanya was there from start to finish and was lovely.My hair was perfect and I really enjoyed my visit, all the stylists were friendly. I've been going to Toni & Guy a while and they've always done a good job of my hair. I left them after a bad experience in a busy salon. After having struggling to get my long hair cut properly after moving again I went back with a very clear discussion of what I wanted - where I'd struggled with other hairdressers - particularly aimed at the fashion of having my long hair totally cropped back when I have it cut because it's too fine, badly cut or damaged for what I want. What I've been asking for I've always had - so it's so frustrating hairdressers don't do it or I get butchered; it's not too fine. And my hair is long, fast growing and in good condition. I'm just getting old and it's probably falling out. Anyway, I can trust T&G, they've sorted me out.
