Katie is a great stylist and I’m incredibly happy with the way she has styled and cut my hair, she has also given me some very good advice.
However as with all high end hairdressers they are told to promote the salons treatments and products. My experience was no different. I was encouraged to buy very expensive shampoos and treatments that on the whole didn’t really do anything different to my hair although they smelt amazing.
£26 for a bottle of shampoo is one off luxury in my opinion.
I was advised by Katie not to carry on using box dye on my hair as it will damage it. Which I totally took on board. But with the price of a root touch up being £60 at academy it’s sadly a price I can’t afford on a monthly basis.
So unless I win the lottery or something sadly I won’t be continuing to go to Academy salons.

I was with Sophie for a half head of highlights and a fitting of tape extensions (27 sandwiches).
I expressed that I wanted to be super blonde to the root in quite a confusing way haha, but Sophie was easily able to understand what I meant which was brightening around the face.
For a full head of 20 sandwiches, it took Sophie about half an hour to put them in, which is really quick! The placement was also great, as she considered my parting and the way my hair falls to ensure it was discrete, and to make sure it blended with my natural hair.
I was incredibly ecstatic with the result, I left at around 4pm as after 20 sandwiches were put in, we decided to put in the rest. It looks absolutely beautiful, and as always I am so blown away by the professional treatment from this fabulous salon.
If you just want that extra bit of fullness to your hair, or you love the long hair like me, I would wholeheartedly recommend Academy Salons in Esher.
In the current climate, Academy are getting so many things right, but especially with the state of the economy, they are still really affordable which means I can still get my hair done regularly and feel confident and refreshed!
