The team of ladies were amazing with my ASD/ADHD daughter. They cut her hair for free as she was donating her hair to little princess trust. They were very patient with her and went at her Pace. This is what I was offered from the ‘pamper visit’
• Personal Hair Consultation
This didn’t happen but I was told half way through brushing my hair after the wash ‘you need a hair cut’
• Reconstructive Hair Treatment
A mask was used but was only left on for about 30 seconds. The instructions for the mask in particular says to leave on for 5-10mins.
• Unwinding Scalp Massage
This was a very very basic massage which was less than I get in other salons during a standard appointment. It lasted for the duration of the mask being left on which was again about 30 seconds.
• Shampoo & Blow Dry
This happened but my hair was still wet at the root and was dried with a paddle brush roughly. It was then curled with straighteners which was painful and the finished style was not up to the standard I had expected. At one point I had to step in a curl my own hair for a section. I had asked for a curly blow with volume. My sister said after it was the flattest my hair has ever looked.
• Complimentary Beverages
Other salons have a range of drinks, when offered a drink I asked for a hot chocolate which I was then told ‘if not a hot chocolate what else’ and I said a latte as usually this is what I get in other salons. The stylist pulled a face as if that wasn’t an option so I asked what drinks do they offer and she replied with black coffee.
Overall the experience was no where near what it was marketed as and I left with my hair looking one of the worst it has ever looked and felt incredibly dry and damaged. I have been to salons for many many years and expect it to be better than what I am able to achieve as home as I am not a hairdresser. I didn’t feel pampered at all it was just a basic hair salon appointment of a very low standard. As mentioned I did speak to the salon directly after the appointment but I was unable to explain fully the experience which I do believe they should be aware of.
