Louise was great as always. She is fast and experienced with no unnecessary flourishes. Just a very good haircut, no pretensions. And the Saks salon is calm and welcoming . I actually enjoy going to the hairdressers, rather than seeing it as a hassle

I love this Salon. It is beautiful and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Jess is a talented and considerate stylist. She listens carefully to what I want. After years of short hair with other hairdressers I made an appointment with Jess and now she is styling it so that I can get the length I want. While Jess does my hair I love relaxing and being pampered. The assistant who washed my hair and gave me a head massage is lovely too and sorry I didn’t get your name.

I highly recommend her for colour and styling!

Yesterday was my first appointment at Saks York and it was very good. From start to finish all the staff were friendly and professional. I’ll definitely be back to see Robyn and Darcy.

There is no better hair salon - always such a feel good place to have my hair cut and Ashley is the best when it comes to cutting curly hair. And he is the best!! And the best team to boot!

Robyn is brilliant! She really understands my hair and always does such a great job. I don’t go to the hairdresser very often, but she’s helped me find a style and colour that lasts between visits now I am starting to get the odd grey hair. She communicates clearly and makes every appointment something I actually look forward to. I can’t recommend her more highly.

First time to visit Saks , met the wonderful Louise who cut my hair during her lunch break because I got the wrong day for my haircut, super cut , have booked my next cut. Receptionist was also excellent

Emma was lovely as always she did a great job and I am happy with the result.

Not so happy with the treatment, though my hair does look great. The junior/other stylist with long red hair was not great. She massage my head for all of about 2mins (£20treatment!! Not worth it tbh) then left my hair so soaking wet it soaked through the towel and gown and when my stylist came back she had to get me a new gown and dry me off. This is my industry and I suggest a training session to teach a higher standard of customer care and ensuring value for money in all services.

I've had my hair cut by Ashley for many years and he always takes the time to think about what's going to fit in with my lifestyle. Warmly recommended

Geeat service and Robyn always does a fantastic job and is good to chat to as well!. 5 stars for service and I'm always pleased with cut/colour. Excellent drinks offerings and the friendliness/efficiency of all staff makes it a welcoming place
The 4/5 star for atmosphere is because I find the music a lot louder than it used to be and therefore not very relaxing! They did turn it down straight away when I asked but feel it's more for staff enjoyment than customers. I prefer a quiet and calming.space - but maybe that's my age bracket?!!
Young lady who washed my hair was lovely and was very careful with water temperature but I felt her nails were way too long for washing hair/doing a head massage and the wash wasn't as "scalp massaging" as a result! But these are minor points in the overall scheme of things. I've been coming for 20 years so that says it all.

Brilliant! I’d never go anywhere else. I always say that getting my hair done is my spa day and I’ve never had a bad haircut!

I took my son to Saks in York for a haircut with Ashley, and we couldn’t be happier! From the moment we arrived, Ashley made my son feel completely at ease — friendly, patient, and genuinely great with kids. He took the time to listen to what we wanted, offered helpful suggestions, and gave my son one of the best haircuts he’s ever had.

The cut itself is fantastic — neat, stylish, and easy to manage, which is exactly what we needed. You can really tell Ashley takes pride in his work and has a great eye for detail. My son walked out smiling (which says it all!), and we’ve already decided he’s the only one we’ll be booking with from now on.
