Laura has been cutting my hair for a relatively short time but I am extremely impressed every time I visit the salon.

Had my 3rd appointment with Kirsty yesterday and absolutely love the transformation she has done on my hair in a few months taking me to full platinum blonde! Love our appointments as she’s so easy going, friendly and fabulous to talk too. She is a real asset to your team.

Kirsty is a fantastic new addition to the team! It’s always sad to see fab hairdressers leave, but Kirsty has been my ‘go to’ since and despite being relatively heavily pregnant.. she always takes her time, makes sure I’m ok, gives honest and sound advice and makes my appointment at the salon an absolute pleasure! (Not to mention my amazing hair!)

I’ve been a regular with Toni now for a while and love the way she does my hair. Always a good cut and a nice experience.

Mica is a true professional. Her perfectionism means that I always leave with the perfect cut and colour, no matter what I challenge her to achieve. Plus she’s a really lovely individual. Highly recommend her.

Amazing salon, clean and very covid safe which was a fear of mine when returning to our new normal. Always leave with a lovely blow dry and colour and feeling a million dollars. Ladies are friendly and knowledgeable. All round lovely salon.

After months of needing my hair doing and feeling like a straggly mess, I left the salon feeling like I was walking on air! Toni isn’t my usual stylist but she listened to what I said I would like, made recommendations and did an amazing job, highly skilled and highly recommended.

I really enjoyed mu cut with Toni yesterday, she listened to what I said and was very good at checking whether I was happy as she went along, overall I was very pleased and would definitely go back. Tha salon however although very new I found to have no character, the safety precautions not withstanding there was little or no atmosphere which is a shame. I would still go back as the staff were very professional and conscientious and I received excellent treatment!

I am a regular customer of Contemporary salon in Yarm and the service is faultless every single time. All of the staff are lovely and make you feel welcome and you are well looked after with teas and coffee.

The measures put in place for COVID are very reassuring and I felt very comfortable and protected.

Contemporary are unique in that each time you have your hair washed you receive a mini head massage and they offer numerous hair treatments, which include a hot towel over your hair. It’s bliss.

An overall very relaxing experience and a real pamper every visit.

First time in the new salon, it's much smaller than the other one and is really noisy with all the dryers going but that's something everyone will have to get used to, including me!
All staff were wearing masks/face shields in line with the current regulations and all customers had hand sanitiser applied on arrival and a new measure is that your temperature is now taken at the door which is quite reassuring. As ever, there was a friendly greeting and despite Covid, the salon are now able to offer drinks in takeaway cups which makes things feel a bit more back to normal.
This was my last cut and blow dry with Rachel before she goes off to have her baby and as always, my hair looked really nice when she had finished. Rachel also cuts my boyfriend's hair and he's always happy with it.
Rachel had already introduced us to another stylist who will cut our hair whilst she is on maternity leave and had explained how I like my hair to be done. Nobody likes to change stylists, but hey ho, even hairdressers are allowed to have babies!!
Very best wishes Rachel for a safe confinement and I look forward to seeing lots of pics of your gorgeous baby when you are back from maternity leave.

Highly recommend Mica. She always listens to my ideas and then suggests how they can be adapted to suit my very thick hair. She’s always right!! She’s a fantastic colourist and stylist. Lovely personality and a total professional. And not forgetting the lovely Ellie! I have back problems which can make it awkward to shampoo my hair. Ellie never makes it seem a problem and always keeps her smile and lively personality no matter the challenge! All in all the whole experience of a visit to the Salon is very enjoyable. Mica and Ellie - Dream Team!!

Mica is brilliant- she listens to my ideas and will make suggestions to adapt them for best outcome for my thick hair. I’m always happy with my colour and the way she cuts and styles my hair. Also a special mention for the lovely Ellie. Best shampooer ever! Always considerate for my back problems - quick, efficient and lovely personality.

I visited contemporary yesterday, safety guidelines were managed very well and I Felt safe. Toni and the other staff members were very lovely, professional and took time to explain everything to me. I had a pre-booked appointment with Rachel on 14th November but when I heard about the latest lock down I was worried I may have to wait weeks and weeks again before I could get back in so called the salon on Monday 2nd November and after many attempts I got through and was delighted to hear that as Laura was going to work an extra day, I was able to get an appointment with her the next day.
Laura has never cut my hair before but she listened to what I wanted and gave me a good cut and blow dry which I was happy with.
The salon was extremely busy as lots of people had booked last minute but I did not feel rushed and all the staff were attentive and making the very best of a horrible situation to keep a nice atmosphere going in the salon,

I booked in last minute with Vicky via the contemporary website - I had previously came to contemporary a couple of times however the last haircut I got in July I wasn't pleased with, as I have very thick hair, it hadn't been thinned out, been cut blunt and felt very heavy. I explained to Vicky what I wanted and she did a wonderful job, she kept checking in that I was happy with it and thinned it out wonderfully - I also mentioned I would like to have balyage in the Autumn so she did the skin test for me there and then so I didn't have to come in before my next appointment.

My hair is curly and so I choose my hairdresser vary carefully and stick with them like glue if they’re good. Vicky is amazing. She listens to how I’d like it cut and advises me on what’s best. What’s most important is that she takes time to make sure I’m happy with the result and because of the kind of hair I have, she adds a little extra attention on the end to texture and ensure it’s the correct shape.

I received an offer via Instagram and due to my long, thick hair I tend to avoid hair dressers for as long as I can! However I think after my appointment with Rachel that will all change! Rachel made me feel at ease and was so complimentary of my hair and listened to what I wanted. The girl who washed my hair was also lovely, making me feel comfortable and most of all relaxed! Rachel took the time to talk me through different techniques to style my hair and this will make it so more manageable for me. Overall I left feeling so pleased with my hair, not just the cut but the finish too, it was perfect! Safe to say I will be back in the salon soon!
