had an absolute blast with my stylist, Gina, the entire day I was there. talked me through the entire process and openly contributed ideas to the vision I wanted with my hair. for a full bleach coverage and colours and being out in 3 hours I'm extremely impressed and there was never a moment where I thought I was being rushed or told what to do with my hair. Gina was extremely lovely and knowledgeable and was also so excited to do the colours I wanted! I'd love to have her again next time I'm here.

I've been after a salon that not only caters to my hair needs but also make me feel comfortable throughout the service- Vodou salon is that!
No matter what you need doing they will help you achieve the hair of your dreams. I've never had a bad service because all the staff there are so attentive to your needs and so friendly. Like all salons, it can be a busy atmosphere but depending on the service you are getting, you can sit back and see the stylist work their magic and create their art ( there's been numerous of times i've been in awe at their work.)
Hayley is an incredible and talented stylist, not only with colour but also cut ( from someone whos fine hair that often goes flat and dull, she cuts it to give it life!) The pricing is so reasonable and they have amazing deals going on within which I don't see other salons do.
I am so thankful and grateful for this salon because they are an incredible team. I commute from over the waters and it's always worth the trip.

Booked in with hayley to have some vivid colour removed from my hair that i couldn't get out. I was disappointed with the outcome sadly and I wsnt very happy. Having my hair cut for the first time as a trans woman is a very daunting experience. I was very glad to see the "Trans Rights" poster in the window which helped put my mind at ease.

Upon enquiring, all the staff were exceptionally helpful, welcoming and eager to please. Not being particularly clued up on how to properly take care of my hair to best maintain a feminine look, I cannot sing the praises enough of Gina and her team who were able to advise what would be best, and they set me up for an appointment literally the next day.

I had an amazing treatment and everything was explained clearly and thoroughly at every step. This helped instill confidence in not just how I felt, but in the knowledge I was in safe hands. I was even offered tea/coffee which helped relax me even more.

Gina was absolutely lovely and understanding of my situation, and her and her team very quickly made my apprehensions melt away. I loved how different and better my hair looked afterwards, and booked my next appointment before leaving.

A bit underwhelmed and disappointed

i was really excited to get my hair done, i originally booked my color and cut with Gina but my appointment was rescheduled twice due to Gina being sick and then the second stylist was sick as well (understandable and not a problem)

the stylist I had was very lovely and nice but I felt that maybe she was overwhelmed with my request and didn’t take the time to properly assess my hair before the color. I had a small section of faded black on the right side of my fringe and the underneath of my hair was a grown out faded black. I wanted these sections retouched with permanent black color. The rest of my hair was a scalp bleach and then tone.

She originally said she would section the black away and do it at the same time as the bleach application but then said she would do it at the sink after rinsing the bleach as it would be easier. I did not see her section my hair because of it being done at the sink but since getting home and having a better look at my hair, I noticed there is a faded blue / black in my platinum blonde where there shouldn’t be and the section in my fringe is much bigger than i wanted and not what i originally had that I wanted retouched. There is a blue tinge in my blonde hair. The black is also not feathered, it is very solid and like a line in my hair.

I’m very sad because the stylist was so nice, and my scalp bleach and tone came out beautifully. But it felt rushed and like not enough time was taken to understand. I don’t know how I will be able to remove the black from my blonde now and i’m concerned a permanent black color was not used and will fade into my white hair if it is a demiperminant color.

I have always just cut my hair off at home and have never had any professional work done before. I had dreadlocks fitted by Mark and I couldn't be happier with everything.

This was my 3rd visit to Voodoo and I am so happy with my salon experience. Emily is a fantastic colourist and my hair is now in great condition. Before I was told that I was not holding onto my colour due to my age. Roots were showing after 3 weeks. Well now I go every 7 weeks and roots are only beginning to show. Thanks Emily I feel a million dollars.
