I've just moved to Hemel and it's always nerve wracking trying to find a new haird
salon. I booked with Open because I liked the vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive which made me feel very relaxed. I also loved the decor. Elliot was my stylist and he was fab, we chatted away and I let him do what he thought would suit my hair best, and I love the end result. I've already booked in for colour and for another cut in a few months. Thanks Elliott!
I suffer from PTSD and Dani made me feel relaxed from the start of our appointment, she was able to make adaptations for my appointment, she also toke the time to listen to what my desired looks were and was able to give me a hair colour that I not only love but is also easy to maintain.
I have booked my next appointment with Dani and look forward to becoming a regular client.

Trips to Old Hemel for my regular cut with Ben have an added entertainment factor since the local area is so popular as a film set.
That along with lovely cakes, fresh produce from Artickoke Cafe make getting your hair done a colourful experience. Ben always gets my hair tamed and looking the way I want and the other staff are friendly and efficient- now magazines are back and the screens gone it’s a treat and return to normalcy we’ve all been craving. Wonderful!!

I have finally found a salon that ticks all the boxes and I am no longer nervous about what they will do to my hair! Kirstie is amazing, she listens to what you want and I absolutely love my new colour, it’s something I don’t think I would ever have gone for and I am so pleased I have!
I love that everyone helps everyone out and all the trainees are so good and it’s clear they love what they do and receive great training and support.
The atmosphere is great, there is a lovely buzz about the place, super friendly, relaxed and an awesome drinks menu to make the whole experience even better, there is nothing not to love about Open, Hemel.
Sarah is one of the loveliest people ever, she’s so kind and friendly. Always have such a good chat when I come in and she’s always very honest and will always work around my schedule. I cannot recommended Sarah enough, she has transformed my hair massively too it’s so much healthier
Ian is a great stylist for curly hair. He seems to know innately the way to cut into the curls for best effect. He is also a great conversationalist which makes the whole experience just perfect?

I wasn’t sure how I wanted my hair to be cut but it was a really good cut from Ben. Couldn’t have been happier.
I have had my hair done now by Dani twice and both times she has been amazing! She is so friendly, professional and feels more like a friend and makes me feel so comfortable when I’m getting my hair done!
She has done my hair exactly how I wanted it both times and I can not fault her for anything. She even ran through some Baylage information for me and gave me some advice on it. I love coming to Open as the atmosphere is lovely and all the staff are so welcoming!

I very much hated going to the Salon as I found it to be quite an intimidating environment, however from the first visit to now, I have felt so comfortable visiting Open. Sarah is absolutely amazing with hair and knows exactly what is best for you and works with you to create what you are going for. She's so lovely too, everyone is. Also, a free hot drink or cheeky gin is a bonus!
Nathan was quick to interpret my random description and the cut and colours were exactly what I had in my head. What a star. The atmosphere was buzzy with some good music and everyone pitching in to keep customers happy and the salon running smoothly. A great team vibe.
Dani is great - she’s really skilled at cuts and colours - I have short hair and am not good at explaining what I want but Dani listened to my ideas and has given me two great cuts and colours so far! She’s not afraid of making suggestions and I love being styled by someone who has a fresh approach to hair.

Such a lovely salon with really friendly staff. They were happy for me to bring my life with me and to set up camp for my appointment. Kept offering refills on my green tea and even gave me a complimentary hair treatment. So happy with my colour- Nathan never disappoints!

Very good cut. Ian actually listens to what the customer wants. Takes time to ensure you come away feeling good about your hair. The salon is bright & very friendly. Not in any way intimidating as so many trendy salons can be. I would highly recommend.

I had my hair done by Dani who, I felt, is very friendly and caring. She listened to me whilst also taking time to clearly outline what she had understood from me and what she intended to do with my hair. I felt very involved throughout the process. The end result was extremely clever, caring and thoughtful. It was an amazing match to my natural hair. colour. Dani is obviously a very clever stylist and hair colourist.
This was my first visit to the salon. I loved the airy feel of the large space and the relaxing and friendly vibe. Whilst waiting for my colour to take I enjoyed looking around at other stylists working on their clients. I was impressed by the obvious professional and clever hairdressing taking place.

The whole team at Open Hemel are lovely as soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is great and Eliott is FAB! Eliott is so knowledgeable and always has a plan on how to make my hair feel fabulous. I’ve never left disappointed and I always leave with a specially recommended product which allows me to have salon hair at home! Such a treat whenever I go to see Eliott ?

I am a pensioner and love the attention I get, I have been to many local hairdressers, Open in my opinion is the best, strangers are now complementing me on my hair.
I love going to Open, the staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. My stylist spent time to chat through what I wanted and discuss options, the end result is a fabulous hairstyle which is easy to manage. The only thing missing is a regular front of house person, staff are good but a professional front of house team is invaluable. This is the only thing that they could improve on.
Elliott, maestro, cuts my hair with flair and attention to detail - he is a talented, warm- natured stylist. I feel thankful to be his client at Open Hairdressing. And I pray that the salon will thrive and prosper, for their hard work, genius and commitment.
