I haven’t had a haircut for a long time and was looking for a good salon to cut my hair as I’ve had difficulty in the past. I chose Tom as he mentioned in his profile he was a precision cutter, something I was looking for. Tom was polite and cut my hair very well and I’m very pleased with the hair cut. However, Tom isn’t a chatty Director, I had little conversation with him. Everyone else in the salon who were getting their haircut sounded like they had a much better experience. Their stylists were chatty, it was a bubbly lively atmosphere that was going on around me but in my experience it was mostly silence throughout the hair cut. Now I understand that some people have no interest in having conversations with customers like having to hear a life story, or where you work etc but I felt disappointed that I didn’t get the true haircut experience that I have had in the past, which I prefer.

I always have a great experience at Taylor Taylor Shoreditch. I don’t usually enjoy getting my hair cut, but I genuinely enjoy going to Taylor Taylor as the staff are warm and welcoming, cocktails delicious and my haircut is always great!

Laura is very professional and always kind. The reception staff are great and very accommodating.

Very disappointed I wish I didn’t go

I had it done at ********** **** by the ********. He was very nice etc so nothing on him personally, but I hate the haircut. I only went in for a trim and was very direct about what I wanted but I was talked into taking at least 2 inches off my hair, and I was given layers which I didn’t ask for. I also asked for shaping round the front but all he seemed to do was take a big chunk out of each side and make it look like a block of hair and not even blend it into the longer bits so it looks stupid. I thought I loved it when I left because he took a look of time styling it but after I had a shower I realised it was the worst haircut I’ve ever had and it cost £85. I’m never going back I feel like crying if I’m honest. I don’t usually leave reviews but yeah very upset.

Bad blow dry

Honestly I was so disappointed. I booked in for a blow dry for a big event I was going to. I wanted a lovely blow dry with a bit of a wave - something chic and understated. Instead I got my hair tonged into what I could only describe as bad bridesmaid hair. It looked incredibly dated and I had to go home and brush the whole thing out and re-do it myself.

The stylist did a great job though I don’t know if she finished the cut because we ran out of time. (The salon should have a place to write a note in the booking system because some people have extra thick hair that takes longer. ) I felt rushed out and barely got to look at the cut. So I left feeling unsure if I liked it. Also I’ve been to the salon many times in the last 12 years and it used to be very cool but now instead of having Dazed magazine and Vogue it has Good Housekeeping and Women’s Own. What the hell? Even super old Dazed magazines would be better than that. Those details make me question the salon… have they given up a bit?

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent visit to us. We take all feedback , whether good or bad very seriously so we do appreciate your honesty in the review. We can only apologise for the magazine selection , this is being rectified straight away , we did re-introduce magazines after Covid as nothing beats a flick through a printed magazine but there seems to have been a hiccup in our salon package . Please be assured Dazed , Wired , Vogue and our other usual magazines will be back in service straight away. No customer should feel rushed when in the salon and as the first salon to extend hair appointment from 45 minutes to an hour we know only too well that this should be a time when you relax and enjoy he moment . I do not know your contact details from this review but if you would be happy to contact the salon we can make sure we fully understand why your appointment was rushed and make any necessary changes .

She also advised me on a hair style that I needed to do for an upcoming event, and gave me a little bit of hair product to take home for it! Genuinely one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I was so badly in need of a haircut I actually felt embarrassed when I walked into the salon, but Michaela listened carefully and without judgement and I walked out a new woman!

Work had left me unable to see a stylist for far too long, but I’m very picky about who cuts my hair - she did an incredible job AND I enjoyed a lovely head massage and a cocktail too.
