So so happy with my new hair! Went in not really knowing what to expect, everyone was lovely - i had really nice aveda tea, a complementary head and neck massage and came out very happy! Wasnt 100% sure how to explain what I wanted but came out with it bang on. Will definitely be going back

As ever a visit to Edward James is a joy. There is a feeling of real camaraderie in the salon & the care received is always exceptional. It is the little details that make it so special; the unique decor, comfortable massage chairs, adjustable sinks ( no more cricked necks), complimentary hand/shoulder massage & a great selection of drinks, beautifully presented & again complimentary.
Having a fringe I really appreciate the free fringe trim between appointments. There is a huge range of Aveda products available & the range of products, treatments & styling is always evolving.
I couldn't rate this Salon more highly.

Great job with the hair as always. Just the person at the desk and phone - she is exceptionally rude and takes genuine offence when requested an appointment. It’s so rude that it’s almost funny.

I have been disappointed with the cut , asked to trim my fringe and it’s not straight and too short when I asked below my eyebrows

I have been coming to Ed for over 8 years and manages to combine being both an incredibly talented hairdresser with running such an incredible group of salons.

Amazing experience. Warm walk in reception. Massage to relax, constant flow of any drinks , wonderful chats snd perfect hair colour and cut. I felt like a new person after! Ed is a genius and lovely too!

Jessica is somehow a mind reader and gives me exactly what I needed and wanted , just based of my (vague) inspo/ideas AND desired maintenance plan for my colour. The cut and colour always grows out so lovely, something I struggled with with other stylists. I know I’m always guaranteed to have gorgeous hair after seeing Jessica- can’t wait to see her next time!

I love Edward James. Everyone is so welcoming, the atmosphere is calming and the stying and colouring are truly excellent. Jessica is amazing - highly professional and very intuitive.

Lovely experience and looked after well. You can tell the salon and hairdressers are very skilled. There are more highlights than I was aiming for /a bit more obvious, so I think I will need to revisit in 4 months say to get topped up and a little less. Otherwise good results.

Gitanna gave me a wonderful colour and cut as always, the colour is subtle and gorgeous and the cut and style afterwards was exactly what I wanted. My head massage was wonderfully relaxing and the guy that washed my hair was so careful and considerate. I have been going to Edward James Balham for a while and always delighted with the results.

I adore Jessica, so careful and always pleasant and considerate. Hair colour came out great. Other staff are also very kind and helpful! Only thing I would mention as negative, I feel that hair must be fully dry prior putting the round brush on, brushing semiwet hair with the brush results in breakage especially for bleached hair like mine and I noticed this happening in all my visits.

I only go to Danielle to colour my hair and she’s never let me down. This time last year I had jet black hair and we’ve managed to get it to a lovely golden blonde. Very happy :)

Thought I’d leave another review for highlights. I have been getting blonde foiliage done by Gitanna for 1.5 years now. I am never this faithful to somewhere/someone but she is the only consistent colourist in London I trust to get the blonde I want. It’s so hard to find somewhere and someone good. I have been pretty fussy over time - but she still even managed to make my colour perfect for my wedding day!!

Amazed by my toner result and overall experience with Carrie, she was so lovely and went over and above to make me look and feel beautiful.

I love this salon and always have a great experience - from the lovely coffee and biscuits and neck/ head massage before the wash and Blowdry to the warm friendly atmosphere of the place

I had a fantastic wash, treatment and blow dry from Chris. He understood exactly what I wanted and I loved the result!

Ed is a great hairdresser and a lovely person. He has also assembled a really nice team, so everything, from complimentary massage (wish it were longer!) and having my hair washed is a really enjoyable experience.

Each visit starts with a warm welcome. Chelsea always aims to take care of all comforts first. We take time to catch up as she treats my hair to all sorts of favours. Makes a great cup of coffee too!
