Edward James London - Balham

I had highlights and a cut + blow dry. I was very pleased with the service and would certainly recommend this salon.

The salon is lovely, and Aaron is a fantastic stylist! He’s friendly, welcoming, and always offers gentle, helpful suggestions when I ask. My hair looks amazing every time, and I genuinely enjoy each visit. I’d highly recommend Aaron and the salon to anyone!

Aaron cur my hair for the first time yesterday in Balham and I couldn’t be more pleased with the cut and having also coloured my hair recently too, the combination was lovely. His care and attention to detail is second to none and he quickly knows what is going to look right for my hair and the whole process is seamless friendly and excellent. Thank you so much.

I just love going to Edward James, it’s so so relaxing, all staff are super friendly and Jess is just incredible, she always knows what I like and the end result is perfect!!

Always a great experience!! I’ve been coming here for years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Gitanna is incredibly talented and always does an amazing job on my hair. Highly recommend!!

Regular customer new stylist was fine although didn’t listen to my initial instructions. The lady that washed my hair (there’s always a new one) was terrible, she ended up tuning my jumper pouring water with bleach from my hair all over the front of my neck, forehead, face. She then burnt my scalp whilst drying the hair and dried it so bad I had like a lump wave on my hair I just could not her rid off for two days.

I know I'm going to be looked after here.

Carrie is an absolute superstar - not only is her knowledge of cuts, colour and products second to none, she is so much fun to sit and chat to. I can’t recommend her (or Hayley upon her return) highly enough.

Had a great experience with Aaron on Monday! He was friendly and professional—not too chatty, but very considerate. He checked in to make sure I was happy with the length and was more than happy to take a little more off when I asked. I also really appreciated his advice on my hair, which was super helpful. I’ve already recommended him to a friend, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Came in for a root tint and a cut, came away with a new colour and stylish bob both of which I love!

Great service from start to finish, always love how Jessica does my hair. She mixed the perfect colour, was so attentive to make sure the cut was what I wanted and the bouncy blow dry was amazing!

Friendly staff and really well treated from the moment I walked through the door. Wonderful shoulder massage and head massage provided by the hair washer. Gorgeous products on my hair and really happy with my haircut.

Jamie is quiet and just gets on with it. I have been seeing her regularly for root tints for a long time.

Really wanted to have a good experience here as the people are lovely but unfortunately have had bad colour appointments on three separate occasions which has led to bleach damage of my hair. Highlighted where the colour hasn’t developed and left a nasty orange tinge and then where the foils have slipped and created a stripe in the hair. The colourist unfortunately did not check whether the colour had developed before the assistant took the foils out which I think is poor and is usually standard for them to check a couple of times that it’s developing correctly throughout. I was charged full price £260 for highlights and despite attempts at trying to fix it I still left really disappointed and unhappy with an uneven orange colour instead of the creamy blonde I asked for. My hair is actually worse off for coming here when I’ve been working really hard to grow it and improve the health of it. Would not recommend :(

Super happy with my balayage and cut by Gitanna, she did exactly what I asked for and was very relaxed and lovely, I will definitely come back again!

I visited the saloon yesterday and saw Jamie, who was very professional, competent and very pleasant. Thank you for excellent service

stylist burnt solidified hair products into my hair while using the curlers - this left me with large crystallised black masses in my hair. I had to ask reception for a comb to brush all of the matter out of my hair as it was matted. It’s hard to tell whether she saw this in my hair or not, from the look on her face when it happened it would suggest she did and chose to ignore it however I will give her the benefit of the doubt

I had a lovely experience at Edward James on Sunday. Gitanna did my hair, sorting out my very grey roots and making me feel like a new woman. I had a massage with lavender oil, I was served a freshly made decaf coffee with oat milk and biscuits and I had a lovely massage chair when my hair was washed. I left feeling amazing, worth every penny. See you in a couple of months Gitanna. X

Good result

Very rude senior stylist (I can't remember his name), for a wash and curly blow dry. Not only was he rough, unfriendly and barely said a word to me, the actual blow dry was ridiculous. Within 1 hour of me walking out it was straight. No volume at all and certainly no curls. Extremely disappointed when I normally have such a good experience here.

Nicola was so lovely! She talked me through finding the perfect colour for my blonde to red transition. Nicola was efficient and knowledgeable and so bubbly to be around!

Dalis has cut and coloured my hair for years, and although Balham is completely out of my way, I have followed her to Edward James because I've never found another stylist to match her technical skills. Her advice on colour, cut, condition and aftercare has improved my hair immeasurably, and not just immediately after the appointment - I find my colour lasts well every time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Hair apt 9.30am 11.12.24 - full head highlights.
I tied my hair up later after hair apt and can see sections have been missed - looks inconsistent/ patchy in colour. I have a photo to send - disappointed.
