About us

The mcIntyres hairdressing story began 25 years ago when Kay McIntyre opened her first salon on Perth Road, Dundee. The salon has since undergone several refits and been recognised at the British Hairdressing Business Awards for its excellent design.

As well as offering a hair colour lounge, hair clinic and dedicated backwash area, mcIntyres in Perth Road is also home to the McIntyres Academy which trains the hairdressing stars of the future. Every member of the team is highly trained and up to date with the latest cutting and colouring techniques, offering an exceptional experience for every client. Indeed, mcIntyres were also the first salon in Dundee to receive five stars for its level of service.

Radek is the best hairdresser I have ever been to, not only at McIntyres but any salon. Radek manages to take my dull, limp hair and turn it into Jennifer Aniston worthy dream locks. I get so many compliments about my hair and its all because of the incredible cut that Radek does. I didn't get a colour this time, but people were asking if I did and its simply because Radek did such an amazing job last time that the colour has grown out so beautifully. I honestly can't recommend Radek enough. Absolute God tier hairdresser.

I have been getting my hair done by Natasha for the last year and she is absolutely fantastic. So friendly, and can always have a good laugh with her. She is clearly a real perfectionist, always takes the time to ensure the cut is as perfect as can be. I am sorry to say that having been a loyal and happy customer spending top price for my ash blond tresses. I made the mistake of asking for a slightly warmer blonde tone for a trip to see family.I haven’t seen them for ages because of Covid and wanted to look my best. My stylist without proper consultation toned my hair twice being unhappy the first time a terrible uneven rust/ginger tone.. after the shock and me stating it looked ginger I was convinced by the stylist it was a beautiful caramel shade that suited my skin tone, she added it would wash out anyway? I have to say I was gutted and left the salon really upset and not wanting to make a fuss doubting myself. I just wanted to run home to frantically wash it out. It took several washes and blue toner and although the ginger is gone it’s now a a frizzy mess and not a nice shade. . I’m not sure what happened but left wondering if I upset her? Not sure I would go back as I’m shocked and embarrassed and it’s kinda ruined a long awaited trip home. I can’t afford another salon trip to fix this month but just hopeful it washes out soon.

Welcoming and friendly staff. My stylist was chatty and asked questions about how I styled my hair normally, how much I would like off the length etc really pleased and happy with the end result. Absolutely love my stylist she always listens and is not afraid to challenge me if I’m being unrealistic. So happy with my hair and although pricey worth every penny for that confidence boost and for healthy looking stylish cuts and colour.

Beautiful colour, great cut and fab finish. After 7 months my hair is glossy and back to itself. Plus I enjoyed 3.5 hours of relaxation and calm! Not bad for a Saturday!

About us

The mcIntyres hairdressing story began 25 years ago when Kay McIntyre opened her first salon on Perth Road, Dundee. The salon has since undergone several refits and been recognised at the British Hairdressing Business Awards for its excellent design.

As well as offering a hair colour lounge, hair clinic and dedicated backwash area, mcIntyres in Perth Road is also home to the McIntyres Academy which trains the hairdressing stars of the future. Every member of the team is highly trained and up to date with the latest cutting and colouring techniques, offering an exceptional experience for every client. Indeed, mcIntyres were also the first salon in Dundee to receive five stars for its level of service.
