After major postpartum hair loss and poor health and hospital stays had devastated my hair I felt so embarrassed and worried about my hair. I had been advised the wrong cut, too harsh a colour and didn't have the confidence to even try a new salon. I reached out and explained what issues I had, got booked for a consultation with James. He was wonderful. Lovely to talk to, understanding and really kind but straightforward that it wasn't as bad as I thought and it would be a simple fix. I thought i needed lots of different treatments but James explained the right colour and cut was all, o i massively appreciate that honesty too. He recapped again at my appointment to make sure we were still on the same page. It was a relaxing appointment and I managed to feel totally at ease part way through. James talked me through the steps and checked in with me. I ended up leaving with the brand new head I was dreaming of! I teared up looking in the mirror as he dried my hair and couldn't help but happy cry back in the car. Finally getting some confidence back and looking like a full head of healthy hair! Thank you James!

Sarah did the colours as requested which looked okay. However they are not so prominent as I would have expected and as the photo I produced. I thought that the next day they would look brighter, but they havent. Still very nice though. Sarah is a lovely person and we will be meeting again in May for a hair cut this time.

Outrageous increase

Good job but not happy with +20% increase on cut and blow dry and +27% increase on colour, cut and blow dry! How can this be justified? It is unsustainable. My pension increased by less than 5% before tax.

I took my 3-year-old daughter for a haircut, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The stylist was not very welcoming, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable. My daughter is quite sensitive and not very cooperative during haircuts, and I was hoping for a bit more patience and a child-friendly approach.

There was no effort to comfort or reassure her, and simple things like offering a tissue, having a bin nearby, or making the environment feel more accommodating were missing. With young children, a little extra care and warmth can make a big difference.

Sadly, this visit did not meet our expectations. I hope the salon can improve its approach, especially when serving young children.

My first time at Studio 74 and had an excellent wash, haircut, and blow-dry/styling. James was friendly and listened to what I wanted. He was able to give me what I wanted and tailored my cut to my hair type. Rebooked for colour for next time.
