About us

TONI&GUY YORK opened in the town in 1998.

We are committed to providing the ultimate salon experience, paying great attention to customer service. Our talented team of stylists and technicians are on hand to give you expert advice on the latest trends and services.

Members of our salon are part of the TONI&GUY Session Team and have worked alongside the International Artistic Team on catwalk shows at London Fashion Week, bringing the latest trends from the catwalk to our clients.

Members of our Colour team hold the prestigious Wella master colour expert-their knowledge and expertise are on hand to advise you on the latest colours and techniques.

We offer many additional services including Bridal and Occasion hair, the NanoKeratin Smoothing blow-dry and Microlinks/ring Tape extensions. Our wide range of haircare products include label.m, Kerastase, GHD, Wella, Tangle Teezer to keep your hair salon perfect until your next visit.

STRENGTH IN STYLE Strength in Style is now available in this salon, offering people affected by cancer specialist support and advice on hair care. This service includes styling pre, during and post treatment hair, and wig personalisation with the option to purchase synthetic and human hair wigs. I always enjoy coming to T&G. The receptionists are always welcoming. I never have to wait very long and Niki listens carefully to how I think I want my hair. In the end I just trust her to cut my hair, she does it so well.

What can I say... I have travelled from London and Newcastle (where I have and now do live) to come to this (York) T&G to see the one and only Nikki. She is a wizard at what she does, the results are nothing short of magic, and I always feel like I’m dropping in on a friend. Stylist did what I requested, cut well. However don't like it when asked to consider treatments etc/buy products when all I want is a haircut. My stylist today only offered one treatment and I declined but I always feel at T & G that they are trying to sell products to make more money from me and that they are to make a rofit, not because I need them. Have to be firm to say no, as last time came away with something I did not need or use.

Wish I could choose both my colourist & stylist for these reviews as always have both but it only gives choice to pick one, so stars = for both. Alice gave me my excellent natural looking colour as always, and the cut and styling was produced by Claire for 1st time. Bravo, excellent ladies, you’ve given me the all needed boost technically, style wise, and of course not forgetting the spiritual and mental boost, that we humans crave. Excellent starting from the meeting at the beginning, Rhona was lovely reassuring confident and perfect results and she introduced Matt who cut my hair which isn't at all sorry easy he was brilliant too! Infact everything including the assistant who washed and served coffee was a delight.
