If you want a calming, luxurious and friendly salon, Evolve is the one. Although the pricing is not cheap you really do get pampered.

I have only recently moved to York and it took me awhile to find the perfect hairdresser and I have found that in Ebony. She is friendly and very professional. Ebony makes you feel at ease and talks me through my colour and what would look best ( as I get nervous making that change). I enjoy having a good chat while having my hair done and the time goes by really quickly. The salon is Superb and extremely clean. The measures that have been put in place due to Covid are exceptional and I do not feel worried about attending for my hair experience.
All the staff at Evolve are warm and welcoming every time I go and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Beautiful, clean salon. They go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and safe (covid) the stylists listen and take on board what you want. Excellent service from Katie as well who worked hard to get me an appointment!

Fran was really friendly, quickly understood what I wanted, and gave me an excellent cut - my first in 6 months so quite a challenge.

Ebony did a fantastic job. It was a challenging transformation to overall grey from ‘growing out’ highlights. She discussed it all and made sure I was happy with what was planned. Wonderful PPE measures, felt safe and comfortable throughout. This is a fantastic salon with highly talented miracle workers. Products and colours are gorgeous. Expensive but worth it!!

Ebony as usual was lovely and looked after me very well. Very pleased with my hair, colour is great and the style cut and finish was just what I wanted. 11 out of 10.

I can't deny that I was slightly nervous about having my first haircut since lockdown but Ebony was so reassuring and followed procedures but still made it relaxed and friendly. I am very pleased with my haircut as always, Ebony listens to what I want and advises appropriately. She always thinks about how I will manage the style myself and constantly checks how it feels and if I am happy. Thank you Ebony.

It was great to be back at Evolve after a long time away. Fran was as brilliant as ever, and gave me a fabulous cut.
Obviously it's all a bit different with the Covid measures in place, but they dealt with it all in a very professional manner.

As always, great colour and cut by Linzi. Very professional and precise but also great relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff, even in these trying times!

This was my first haircut in a while (due to lockdown) and I cherished every minute of it. I felt safe; as always the salon staff were friendly and the place looks spic and span. The safety precautions showed care and attention (sectioned off areas / staff wearing masks/visors) and the social interaction didn’t suffer even though we were all wearing masks.
It was great to get pampered, have my hair cut back to a manageable condition and leave feeling too if the world.
My haircut and colour were of their usual high standard and dare I say it, my experience felt normal (well typical of a normal experience at Evolve). Thanks everyone

Firstly I would like to say how amazing Holly is as a hairdresser! I have followed her to this salon and absolutely love coming here, everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
I had a full head of highlights and although it hasn’t quite lifted As light as I wanted (and I left with damp hair so couldn’t fully tell in the salon), I messaged Holly and it is being sorted out this week. I am blown away by the efficiency and professionalism of holly and Lindsay and would recommend evolve and Holly to everyone. Thank you so much for looking after me team evolve! Good safety precautions, inobtrusive and very elegant screening. The whole experience was comfortable, pleasurable and transforming.
Came in to have transition from sun bleached hair and sneaky grey growth to something flattering and easy to style.
I got all of these aspects and I am very pleased indeed. Holly’s work has been much admired and I am very appreciative. Happy Hairdressing!!! Long may you continue.

Professional and friendly and very attentive to every need.

It was the first time Ebony had done my hair and she was very lovely. She listened to me and to what I wanted to do with my awful ‘lockdown’ mess of hair. She gave me excellent advice and I was confident from the start that she knew exactly what she was doing and trusted her opinions. My wash was great too and the lady that did it was very chatty and friendly. I had a treatment which was relaxing and I felt like I’d been pampered when I left. My final look was amazing !! My last appointment at Evolve was 2 weeks before lockdown so I was desperate to visit again!! I was not disappointed. It felt so safe, clean but as always professional. Ebony was fantastic as always and although faced with my “lockdown’ hair was as ever professional in her opinion on where I should go with it. She coloured and cut my hair exactly as requested and I can’t express how different I feel as a result. Thank you Ebony and Evolve, as always for making me feel normal again!! Great experience as usual , the salon has gone to great lengths to make it a safe pleasant experience during the COVID outbreak

I was welcomed outside the salon, my temperature was checked and I answered a few health questions before being welcomed into the salon
There was a stand with hand gel, disposable masks, and disposable gloves provided, I used the hand gel and selected a mask to wear for my appointment then was shown to my bay.

The salon is set up with socially distanced bays - screens and looks safe, light, very clean and attractive.
The staff were very welcoming.

Having tried a longer post covid hair style I’d decided I couldn’t cope with it anymore.
Linzi had cut my hair only 4 weeks before, she was lovely and understanding. She listened to my reservations and on being asked her advice suggested a brilliant new hairstyle which has updated me to 2020, is easy to maintain and looks amazing!

The staff at the salon have a serious commitment to safety measures. They wear PPE all the time, offer PPE to customers at the door, disinfect bays etc between clients and have extended the salon opening times to 12 hour days. They work in 2 teams at half capacity to allow for social distancing measures to be adhered to. They are currently open 7 days a week to ensure all their regular customers receive their post lockdown hair cuts as soon as possible.

Linzi owns the salon and is dedicated to giving their customers the best service and experience. She’s constantly reviewing the safety measures in place and how to improve on those she has taken, whilst maintaining her high standards of customer experience and satisfaction.

Did I feel safe? Definitely!
Was I satisfied with my experience? Absolutely!
What are the staff like? They are lovely - friendly, helpful and professional!
Would I return? My next appointment is already booked!

Lovely Holly as always, whose been styling me since noah was a lad! went for keeping the lockdown length and staying blonde yay.

I couldn't reccomend a hairdressers more, definitely the best hairdressers in York! The whole entire experience was calming and professional, something which is needed during the current pandemic. The staff as friendly and social and very attentive to making sure customers were comfortable and that they were happy.

Fran was the sweetest lady and truly gave me a confidence boost with how good I felt after my haircut! She made me feel very valued and I will be returning to her for sure! I have already reccomended her to anyone who will listen.
