David Antony Hairdressing

Overall the highlights I had were fine considering what I paid (Inc a 10% government discount) however, if so am brutally honest, my experience wasn't what I am used to expecting (and I'm not a seasoned salon attendee or I don't think of myself as very high maintenance.)

I thought the initial consultation was fine, the stylist was recommended to me by a friend who used to be a regular many years ago, was nice and my only issue is she didn't really cover the short flyaway greys at the front of my hairline during the treatment, But no major issues.

What I thought and so wasn't too impressed & thought was odd was being passed over to another stylist when stylist no.1 left half way through the appointment - it was only when the stylist no. 1 walked past me with a bike on her way out the door that she informed me...it would have been a courtesy to at least let me know before..the hair treatment itself continued fine thereafter and I gave no complaints.

However...the other thing that's made me think I likely won't make the effort to rebook was the overly loud social chatter and noise level + occasional raucous laughter in the other half of the salon out of view which grew louder the longer the appointment went on (either amongst the remaining stylists or with another client - I could not really see). I could hear quite a lot of the detail of what they were talking about - not that I was remotely interested... I appreciate it was the end of the day and working week, and it was quiet customer-wise,, but it didn't give me the impression that this business was offering an exclusive and calming experience and it certainly didn't exude an atmosphere of exclusivity or pampering - by the end I left feeling it was just one step up a greasy spoon (cafe). Paying was easy, staff offered complimentary drinks (I had 2), that was all fine. Parking was not a problem.

Overall, I'm just disappointed that my experience wasn't as good as the one my friend had told me she had experienced before. I'm not a definite 'not coming

Visited today and as always left with fab hair, relaxed and following a lovely cuppa. Cannot recommend this salon enough. Would not go anywhere else. Fantastic stylists, especially Sarah.

After moving to the south coast I tried a few different salons with disastrous results, then I found David Antony. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Good customer service and staff always training which keeps them fresh and skilled.

I popped in today for a trim and noticed my roots were looking a bit tired and grey! So Heidi managed to change my appointment for a full cut colour and style. She gave great advice on colour and a cut to suit my face. A great experience and am starting my new year with a bang!!!

My hairstylist is Tatum. She is fantastic, giving friendly, attentive service and feeling more like a friend than a hairdresser. Before meeting Tatum I rarely revisited a salon as I found the whole experience uncomfortable but I'm delighted to say I've found a hairdresser to stick with. Thanks Tatum!

Arrived at the salon made to feel really welcome staff were very friendly. The lady listened to everything I asked for and done a brilliant job very happy, it stayed in for two days would highly recommend.

This was the first hairdresser salon I have ever been too, 8 am always happy with what they do to my hair.
Everyone is very welcoming and talkative.

I turned up in a hat to ashamed to show the state of my hair.David is a genius, I have very thick hair I'd let it grow. I came away feeling so good after having coloured, razor cut and lovely attention from Maria who washed and treated my locks. I'm so pleased with the result everyone says I look ten years younger. Just spent a relaxing morning at the salon. Friendly and attentive staff. Stylist had a conversation with me about the cut I required and if I was happy with the colour combinations chosen before. I was also given a free chemical treatment to improve the strength of my hair as a new customer. I would recommend this salon to friends and family.

I always have my haIr cut by David and it is always an excellent cut. He is the best in Portsmouth and I am always asked who cuts my hair. He is so good I almost dont want to tell anyone else in case he gets so busy. I used to go up to London to get my hair cut but since I found David I don't need to. It is no wonder the salon wins so many awards every year.

Fantastic value for money. Fantastic stylist Tatum. Super friendly and does exactly what you want. Takes lots of time over the blow dry and uses all the right products to ensure the perfect finish that you are after.

Had my hair dyed today at David antony salon for the first time by Jodie, best salon I've ever been today couldn't rate them high enough !

Admittedly it's always Heidi that does my hair and she's fantastic. Not only a great hairdresser but also has a lovely, warm, friendly personality. However, the rest of the team are also great which all leads to a welcoming, relaxed but professsional atmosphere in the salon.

The ONLY negative was that one hairdresser talked very loudly to her customers which made it unpleasant and difficult to hear what my hairdresser (Claire) was saying to me

As ever a fabulous experience at David Antony Hair Salon. Lovely friendly staff and excellent advice for my frequently unmanageable hair. Always have a lovely cut no matter which of the team cut my hair as seen this time with attentive staff who listened to my ideas about my cut and did a fabulous job. All the better as I called at 1730 on Friday for a Saturday Appointment.

I booked to have a beehive style up do and am always nervous when I go to a different salon but Claire was great...she knew exactly what I wanted and I am really pleased with look. I will definitely be back...
