A few years ago I was recommended by a friend to have Nadine fix a very awful and very wonky haircut I’d had at a different salon. I wasn’t very trusting of hairdressers at the time, they never seemed to do what I asked. One inch off would be three, highlights would look streaky or like in this case, my hair would be cut wonky. The moment I met Nadine I instantly fell in love with her! You can’t avoid it, she’s so warm and friendly, we clicked instantly, like she does with all of her clients because of her sassy style and great sense of humour. Not only did she fix my terrible haircut, she gave me back my confidence in hairdressers and I’ve followed her from that salon to another ever since. I’d follow her across the world if I had to! My hair is always cut and coloured by Nadine, she does such an amazing job and we have good fun whilst she does it. She sweet, professional and knows what she’s doing. I regularly get complimented on all the different blonde tones in my hair and the condition of it is lovely. Most importantly, I trust Nadine. I trust her judgement and her capabilities. The girl has got some serious skills in her bag. I sent my Mum to her for a hair cut and now she goes back every time as well. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Hairdresser for life, friend for life ?

Today I was booked in with Martyn for my regular cut. I must be a nightmare for him - always changing my mind, giving him vague ideas about how I want my hair to look, but he somehow manages to translate all my ramblings into a cut that makes me look and feel fabulous!
The whole team is friendly, drinks are generous and the salon has a quirky, energetic vibe that draws you in.

I usually have Martyn cut my hair but I was unable to book with him due to my availability. I decided to try Sam. I’m absolutely thrilled with my cut and blow dry. I will definitely use Sam again.

Hannah did a lovely cut and blow dry for me and Joe washed my hair, gave a good massage and brought me a drink. They were both kind, bright and solicitous. Great service guys. Very happy. And all in a light, bright and comfortable air conditioned environment.

Just wanted to say how amazing I feel every time I come out of Strangeways. I’m made to feel welcome and have built a great friendship with Hannah! I trust her implicitly which is something I find very hard to do when it comes to my hair.

Danielle is great, she always listens to my requests and gives great advice & suggestions on styles. I was apprehensive about having a colour but didn’t need to worry, Dan got it spot on & now I get lots of compliments on how natural it looks.

Nadine has been cutting / styling my hair for the past 6/7 years. She is amazing at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone for a professional service and excellent haircut.

Had a re style from Pru today and I'm absolutely thrilled with the result. She got the style spot on from the pic I showed her. I've asked for styles from a pic in the past in other salons and no one has got it right until Pru.

Hannah does my colour she's been doing it about 3 years now. I've never had a bad experience. She is amazing at colour. I'm never afraid to try anything different with Hannah. I love the atmosphere in the salon as well. Such a fun happy salon.

Nadine has been cutting my hair for ten years at least . She always is a perfectionist.... attention to detail is awesome ... and she understands y hair and listens to my needs !

Strangeways is like a big family. The quality of service is outstandingly consistent from the juniors to the senior stylists. Everyone is friendly. Customer care is at the top of the agenda. Prudence has been my “go to gal” for almost a decade but on the odd occasion when she is unavailable (I’m booking three months in advance!) I can guarantee that another member of staff could deliver as they are all trained to the same high standard. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough

As always I leave the salon happy. Nadine has been styling, cutting, colouring and blow drying my hair for some time. She always makes sure I know exactly what she is doing, sometime it's the same as the previous month but other times we shake it up a bit and do something a little different.
My only criticism this time was with the young assistant. She didn't engage in conversation at all but I put that down to a little bit of shyness and lack of confidence. I have no doubt that some training will put that right.

I came to strangeways with a botched colour and less than 24 hours later April was able to transform me back to my original colour. The salon was so accommodating and spent so much time and effort on me and my hair and I could not recommend them enough.

I've been going to Strangeways since it opened. The staff are all so welcoming and lively, it really is more like a big family. I love how they train their Saturday staff and juniors up to be stylists and nurture them through,
it shows they care. The treatment you get as a client is great, very personal and you're made to feel special every time you visit. I really couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

Lovely friendly salon went for a regrowth colour, fringe trim and a chat about colour change options.
Hannah was very helpful and professional with her suggestions. Realistic price and a "Your hair looks nice" from my husband when I got home! think I just found my new favourite salon!

Today I came to the salon for the first time, I was a bit nervous, but Sam put me at ease straight away, he listened to me and knew exactly what I wanted to do achieve with my hair again, he is so easy to talk to and my hair is exactly how I want it, it couldn't be better its absolutely beautiful, he made some great suggestions and the finished look was so so nice! Will be coming back regularly, finally found somewhere with great people, friendly open minded atmosphere and talent.

Strangeways is the very best hairdressing salon. Certainly in Leigh on Sea and very possibly in the world. Every one of the staff are not only highly-skilled, but have perfect manners and are a joy to meet. Five stars are just not sufficient!

It’s so nice to pop into Strangeways- always greeted with a friendly smile - and I look forward to a bit of banter with Sam, who always cheers me up.
Even though it was only a fringe trim today , Sam manages to transform my look with a few flashes of those golden scissors- the Midas touch !
