The Retreat @ Frating in Colchester

1st haircut since before lockdown, 1st time using the Retreat. Anita was so warm and friendly, I told her what I wanted and she certainly delivered! Quick, professional got it exactly right first time! I'll definitely be back, would recommend to anyone and everyone. Cheers! Suzie.

I recently moved to the area, and as I like to use local services I decided to give the salon a try. Following my first visit to have a fringe cut back in, I then booked a full hair cut, and I was really happy with the result. Anita is an excellent stylist and she really knows her stuff. She helped to guide me out of my hair misery (following years of mistakes and over-thinning) and I now have the cut I have always wanted but never known how to ask for. And she’s within walking distance too, so the salon is super convenient for me.

Anita's salon is super convenient with parking on her drive. This was my first visit to her fantastic new salon. Very pleased with my cut and highlights - excellent job!

What a beautiful salon. Light, airy and extremely welcoming. The facilities are just fabulous and so easy to get to with ample parking available.
Anita produces first class quality results every time she colours and cuts my hair. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a wealth of experience and will always guide you in the right direction.
I have no hesitation in recommending her and her beautiful salon.

This was my first visit to The Retreat, being new to the area. I was made to feel very welcome by Pauline and was immediately able to relax and enjoy the cosy surroundings. I treated myself to a Shellac manicure and pedicure; I would highly recommend. Pauline is very experienced and knowledgeable in all areas of beauty; I’m already looking forward to my return visit.

Arrived feeling flat and wanted a change. Anita suggested some great darker colours for winter and my hair looks thicker and glossier.

Pauline is just adorable, what a knowledgeable young lady. I had a specialist Dermalogica facial and boy it was fabulous. Just what I needed and more. I’ve already booked in for my next treatment. A small cosy salon in a beautiful village. Feeling Blessed.

I have been going to this salon for around a year now and have a regular CACI treatment. Pauline is very knowledgeable about CACI and other beauty treatments and I feel like she cares whether the treatment works and also offers tips and advice on any skincare issues I'm having.

I also liked that Pauline offered the CACI treatments as pay as you go, rather than having to pay for a block of 10 sessions in one go, like most salons. This meant that the CACI was more affordable for me and I've been able to keep it up.

The salon has also recently had an internal makeover which gives a nicer feel to the place too. Plus the salon opens late on some weeknights which makes it easier for those who work full time.

Really enjoyed my first visit at The Retreat Hairdressers in Dedham today. The restyle cut and blow dry was cut very well. Nice environment.

What a cosy salon. Lovelly hairdresser, who not only fitted me in last minute . Com.... but gave good advice and a great haircut. I felt instantly better. There is also a great quality selection to purchase. At reasonable prices too, well worth a visit. And very glad I did.

I've had a Hollywood wax several times before and have had a bad experience. But Pauline used a Hot wax and Wow what a difference absolutely pain free,?fast and efficient Blown away with the results. Its a beautiful salon,

I have been using The Retreat for sometime now as I suffer with my neck and shoulders.
I would highly recommend The Retreat the new owner is very knowledgeable and has put in a lot of hard work updating the salon.
Definitely worth a visit and why not make it part of a day out as the village has a lot more to offer.

My daughter has just started school so I am making the most of my alone time and booked I to have my roots coloured and a cut and blow dry?

The results of the treatments etc are perfectly ok but this is not the place to go if you want to feel relaxed and pampered.

Lived in village all this time and look what i have been missing out on fantastic haircuts with Anita ?
