The salon was founded in 1981 by Daniel and Sue Gray. The original salon was in a small listed building behind Barclays Bank. After trading there successfully for 10 years larger premises were required and they turned up in the shape of an old coaching inn stables, turned into a garage, just off the main road opposite the marketplace.
The salon prospered here until Booths upgraded their supermarket and it was decided the salon could not function in a calm professional environment with a building site next door! It was time to find new premises and the salon moved to a listed building on Stramongate. The building is grand and is of local interest as it’s the former Provincial Insurance building meaning a lot of our Lake District locals have passed through these doors over the years.
