Aruba Hair Group in Wadebridge

Booked over the phone explained it was a cut/restyle needed, that it needs to be someone who can do thick hair, asked if I wanted it shampooed, no I’d shampoo before coming in but dried/styled, yes.
Arrived on time, waited 10 mins, not a problem but I soon realised that 10 mins had to be made up some where and that was going to be me.
Showed the stylist Millie a photo of what I would like, asked her opinion if it was doable, bob length with some layers and texturising to take the weight out and give movement, also a sloping side fringe, yes to all.
The cut was rushed, she then said the fringe wouldn’t work with the parting where it was, the parting could have been moved, I often change it but she didn’t even offer this option. Minimum texturising no real shaping. I was quickly shown the back view in the mirror and very surprised to be told I wasn’t booked for it to be dried/styled. Paid plus a small tip, the tip was for her chat/friendliness not the cut.
The overall cut when I’d dried it was a ‘blobby’ bob like a wedge. A predated style bob. Any good stylist will know that cut is ok for fine hair but not thick hair. Had it been dried in the salon Millie could have seen this and continued to cut some more to achieve the desired effect. I’m assuming the person who made the appt misheard me?
Thankfully I’m capable of cutting my own hair and did so to get the style she failed to achieve. I even achieved the side fringe. If I can do that on my own hair how can a stylist not. Do they only train on one hair type? I always feel thick hair is an inconvenience to stylists as it takes too much of their time.
I went to a salon on this occasion as a treat and thought it would be better than I can do myself (ironic) as I wanted it restyled for my sons wedding.
The only salon that has ever cut my hair and achieved the requested style is Toni & Guy … wish i’d gone there this time, will do in future.

Managed to get a last minute booking on the same day which was amazing. Friendly welcome upon arrival and the salon itself is a lovely environment to be in and very clean. Hayley was super lovely as well as very professional and listened to exactly what I wanted as I went for quite a big change. She made sure I was happy with the process and the results as well as chatting and making me feel comfortable throughout. Thank you :)

I’ve been going here for over 4 years now and cannot fault the service. Chloe has been cutting and colouring my hair since after lockdown. She is great at what she does, always friendly and helpful and it always feels like a treat when I go there.

I normally like going to have my hair done, but today I had my hair cut in 9 minutes. Such a rushed job.

Through no fault of my own I had to cancel this appointment on the day because of pain and injury to my foot, and since I don’t drive I would have had to walk a long way, and they expect me to pay a £20 cancellation fee. I think that is ridiculous and excessive and I think people should be advised to stay away. A small cancellation fee would have been acceptable and I would have still used the service but now I will never use their salon, ever.

Jenna is very experienced and pleasant. She did a great job & she is quick which is fantastic.

It’s the best hair salon I have ever been too with a lovely relaxed but professional atmosphere and good and healthy results too you’re hair they have made me feel and. Look 10 years younger and it’s nice to see the new youngsters work hard and over the years develop there skills

When I first entered the Aruba salon I thought I was in London, the salon and the staff were sooooo cool , and I have since found out , are super hairdressers . Definitely a breath of fresh air in Wadebridge and well worth a visit .

I went in for a consult with Sadie a week ago and she filled me with such confidence of my decision to dye my hair with colour for the first time. I cannot stop smiling! After lots of googling for hairdressers I bit the bullet and booked a restyle with Sadie at Aruba. I was pretty nervous changing hairdresser but from the moment I walked though the door for my initial consultation I was put at ease. I absolutely love my new locks (apparently they knock 20 years off!) and couldn't have asked for a friendlier, warmer, more experienced hairdresser. Thank you Sadie, you have made my day and my year!

Wasnt too keen on sitting in a chair that had someone else's hair all over though and also being phoned the next day for a review. It takes me a couple of washes to see how I feel about a new cut.

Had my hair cut and styled today showed a picture of what I wanted and it’s nothing like it! Hair is cut all over the place and nothing blends properly! I’m totally disappointed as all the reviews were great! I think the stylist was more impressed with it than I was?

Not only are the team at Aruba utterly professional and extremely talented, they are also kind, caring and understanding. The salon is a beautifully relaxing environment.

Aruba is a very nice salon, plenty of space & a calm atmosphere. All the stylists led by the wonderful Hayley are really good at their craft.
