Tommy's - Ruthin

I recently had my haircut at Tommy’s Hair Salon with Ela, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment I sat in her chair, Ela was warm, friendly, and really attentive. She took the time to listen carefully to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions about my preferences, and made sure we were on the same page before starting.

Even as an apprentice, her confidence and attention to detail were so impressive. She worked patiently and precisely, checking in throughout the cut to make sure everything was looking and feeling right. It’s clear she genuinely cares about doing her best and takes real pride in her work.

Tommy was present and supervising during the appointment, which added an extra layer of reassurance and showed how supportive and professional the salon environment is. Together, they made the whole experience relaxed and comfortable.

I’m so pleased with how my haircut turned out — it’s fresh, clean, and exactly what I asked for. Ela has a natural talent and such a lovely manner with clients. I would absolutely recommend booking with her at Tommy’s and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Ruth is fantastic and I wouldn’t have anyone else cut my hair. However the new £10 charge for a fringe cut which I am more than happy to pay has done her out of the £5 tip I always gave her for cutting my fringe when it was free. As she does the same job it’s a shame she cant have the thank you?

Jess was very helpful, kind and cut my hair beautifully - just what I wanted. A very pleasant and relaxing environment where everyone is highly professional. Will book again.

i have been taking my son to Jess for awhile now and she is so friendly, great with kids and gives the best haircuts! After my son got butchered at too many barbers and hair cutters, I decided to invest in getting a better quality haircut for him. tommy’s is great and Jess is fantastic! Their salon is gorgeous and they serve a lovely brew!

Excellent, quality cut. Knows my hair foibles. Keeps the style modern yet fitting for me.

What made this experience so good was that Jess’ knowledge and experience are why I came out with the haircut I wanted. I didn’t feel rushed or my thoughts dismissed, she genuinely wanted to know what my vision was and then examined the specifics about my hair, instead of just treating me like I’m on a conveyor belt. I feel like I finally am going to get the hair that I want when I next come in for the colour. Just amazing!

I was impressed with the new virtual phone booking assistant, Iris! Slick and efficient. This was a “fringe” trim but Milly always tidies up the edges as needed. It’s a very helpful service for occasional use. As ever, it’s always a welcoming and enjoyable experience seeing Milly and also Kirsty.

I’m absolutely delighted with my haircut. The stylist really listened to what I wanted and understood the challenges of fine hair, especially wanting something that’s easy to manage but still flattering. The result is a soft, natural shape with movement, gentle layers, and a fringe that frames my face beautifully without feeling heavy. It feels modern but age-appropriate, and most importantly it looks good without a lot of styling. I walked out feeling refreshed, confident, and very much myself. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this salon to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled hairdresser who genuinely cares about getting it right.

It’s about being yourself, everything is focused on you ( which is hard for me ) I love it.

Kirstie made sure I was welcomed and made me feel comfortable; she is a star inte salon and nothing is too much trouble for her. And she is lovely! Kaz was his usual pleasant self and did a great colour job! Thanks to everyone!!

Always a happy place to visit

Jessica listened and understood exactly what I needed from my appointment. She was able to make useful suggestions on what style possibilities were open to me, given certain constraints such as existing length, thinness of hair etc. Throughout, Jessica and the other staff at Tommy's were polite, professional, friendly and relaxed. 'Polished' would be a good one word summing up. I left feeling that I had been given the style that I had wanted, so of course I was very pleased. I was even advised of the best way to blow dry, to keep the style looking sharp. I think I will visit again.

I came back to Tommy's a few months ago and was very happy to be styled by Milly again. She is a fantastic stylist, will listen attentively but will always suggest her own ideas. The time flies by with her. She is great company too!

I love my new cut. Milly is great at creating a new look. My hair style is always easy to maintain and stays looking good. It’s a fun, sociable hour and Milly and all the staff create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Tommy’s in Ruthin for my hair color treatment—it truly made me feel special from start to finish! The two ladies who worked on my hair were incredibly caring and passionate about their jobs and made the whole visit so enjoyable. I especially loved the new Australian products they used O&M, which left my hair feeling incredibly soft, and the dye was so moisturizing that my locks have never looked or felt healthier. I’ll definitely be coming back soon, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!
