Wonderful relaxing salon where you always get your hair cut really well by Charles or his team. Everyone is so welcoming. It is always a pleasure to be there and so convenient to bus station and John Lewis etc.

Been going for a couple of years and Charlie and his team are so lovely. Such a relaxing, friendly place and I'm always happy with the result. The herb tint and natural shampoos are great for my hair.

My hair was badly damaged from bleaching and colouring. Ashley did a good job on my hair, not only finding a nice colour which suited me, but also used a treatment called Fyberplex which really made a difference, leaving my hair feeling soft, and looking conditioned and shiny. It brought life back into it. I was very pleased with the result.

I was really pleased with the results of my hair. I went for a colour, cut and treatment. The hairdresser Ashley chose a the colour ash blonde which I think really suits me. I have previously had my hair bleached and lightened so it was in bad condition, so she used a treatment called Fibreplex which bonds the hair and helps to prevent breakage. The results were amazing and not only made my hair feel soft but also gave it a shine.

First time visitor to the salon to repair very badly coloured, cut and heat damaged hair. To be honest I was prepared for the worst - having it all cut off. Ashley was amazing, full consultation on colour, cut etc, she knew exactly what could be salvaged and how to achieve my end result. The salon itself is so relaxing and welcoming. Background music without being intrusive as with some salons. Delighted with the end result.

Constructive feedback... For me hours at the hair dressers is a short break of escapism, I book the afternoon off work and surrender myself to the fact that I get to sit still in one place and maybe even flick though a magazine, while someone does my hair.
Not being a prude, I love music, but Unfortunately due to the loud and inappropriate music blasting over the speakers prevented me from reaching my chill zone! To make it worse, Spotify adds would blast every 3 songs.
Music plays a huge part in atmosphere setting, please re think your play list and maybe choose something more chilled!
The salon was also boiling! Desperate to open a window I began to overheat under a head full of tinfoil.
Apart from that, great service, friendly team.

I had my hair cut, styled and highlights by Ashley on Friday @1.30. I hate going to the hairdressers, I find the whole experience very stressful. However, from walking through the door at CK hair I was met with smiley faces who seemed genuinely nice & friendly. Ashley, was lovely and as I was a highlight newbie talked me through the process and recommended a colour that would suit me- her choice was spot on as I wanted something subtle and natural looking & that was what I got. My children & harshest critics said it looked lovely when I got home. The cut is brilliant as after walking back to the car in drizzling rain, walking my dog in the woods in the evening and a good nights sleep, I woke up to find the style had held. Normally my hair kinks within a few hours- Ashley must be a very good stylist if she can achieve this on my hair. I will be back as after 10+ years of living in Edinburgh I think I have finally found my perfect hair studio. Thank you.

I have been going to CK Hair for years, as it is a friendly and unpretentious, yet high quality salon. Charles, the owner, always manages to create an easy-to-manage style for me.

It's difficult to find a good hairdresser so when Charles' was recommended by a friend who explained he was one of the few people, (perhaps the only salon in Edinburgh) that used specialist herbal hair dyes that don't wreck your hair and cover your grey beautifully I decided to take the plunge. With over forty years of experience, (how many haircuts must that be?!) I put my trust in his expertise and it was worth it! Lovely cut, 10 years younger (oh well almost!) and a really lovely colour too. On forty something hair with those wretched greys (100%!) and the dry ends - Charles has worked his magic, honest no one would know any the wiser - hair shiny too! It is a beautiful salon, a corner aspect with Georgian windows over looking the New Town you can relax with a (proper) coffee, carefully selected magazines and do a bit of people watching whilst being pampered in the warm surrounds of this rather unique salon. Another great haircut from Allanna - it's difficult to find a hairdresser who will work with my hair - when minimally finished it looks at it's best looking odd if too much drying and styling post cut is done - and then looks awful until the next time it is cut and styled. So full marks for a quick cut which lasts and I look my best more often.
