I’ve really struggled with hair dye in the past, especially because the one I’m able to use tends to change colour in the sun. Megan has been incredibly knowledgeable about INOA (the only dye I can safely use) and has taken so much care to work with me. She’s been helping me try different shades on my small amount of grey now, so that as I go greyer we already know what will suit me best.
My hair condition has also been terrible recently, and Megan has taken the time to explain what might be causing it, recommending products and little “ experiments” to help get it back on track. I’m so grateful for her patience, expertise, and genuine care.

Honestly, I struggle with everything that comes with getting my hair cut/coloured - one-on-one interaction, bright lights, personal space being breached, looking at myself close up for a long time, sitting still etc etc…

I have recently started visiting Zappas every 8 weeks for regular cut and blowdrys going forward following a disaster in another local salon.
Casey is extremely knowledgeable in not only the practical side of hairdressing but also in the health of the hair and the best products for my needs. Admittedly she has taken on quite an undertaking to rescue my damaged hair but she has not been fazed at any point whatsoever and meets everything with professionalism, positivity, honesty and above all an extremely friendly approach.
Yes, I’ve only visited here twice so far in the past 8 weeks but I am so happy that I’ve now booked up on a regular basis for the next year and will not go anywhere else. The 2 haircuts I have received so far are exceptional to the point my hair is so shiny and with a style where I look as though I’ve just stepped out of a magazine. I like my hair to look perfectly done at all times and I am not disappointed. On both occasions I’ve been here, other clients have commented at the desk who beautiful my hair has been done and also upon leaving the salon where total strangers have complimented me on my beautiful hair. The damage caused elsewhere is a work in process at Zappas but you’d never know there was anything wrong to look at it now. My first 2 visits have been more expensive than usual as I have invested in a lot of the higher end hair products and brushes recommended to me to maintain my hair at home between visits. Nobody can expect to have fantastic hair with a mirror shine on it without investing in the correct (recommended products) or without taking on board the (honest) advice you’re given. I am 100% happy that I came to Zappas and I cannot thank Casey enough. I hope she receives high acknowledgment from her seniors regarding my feedback. I have never met her before going here 8 weeks ago but I’ve come away again feeling a million dollars .

I went to Zappa’s in Caversham as a new client with terrible shedding and hair breakage following a Brazilian Blowdry done elsewhere.. I was initially going to have a more gentle version of the Brazilian Blowdry with Casey called nano plastia but every day my hair was shedding more and more so couldn’t risk having another heat process exacerbating the problem. I paid a 50% deposit already for the nano plastia but Casey fully understood my concerns and instead allowed me to book in for a shorter haircut and Blowdry where she assessed the health of my hair with a camera and recommended the correct products to use going forward. Casey’s knowledge, expertise and professional were amazing and never rushed me at any point. Not only have I come away with a stunning new haircut , I now feel a lot more comfortable going forward knowing I’m armed with the correct products and advice to start my journey back on the road to healthy hair again. I thoroughly recommend this salon . Thank you
