Appalling experience. Avoid at all costs. I have only been to this place once before for a spray tan. Needed a pedicure and thought I’d try it out. Rang earlier this week to ask the cost and, after a long pause, the girl advise me a pedicure was around £35-38.
Came in today for my pedicure. This was my second ever visit. All fine until I got to the till. The girl said, it’s £40 and you have a charge of £15 for a missed appointment, so a total of £55. I asked what the missed appointments was and she said a manicure from September last year. I don’t have manicures and would not book one so was not prepared to pay this random fee, so she got her manager. This is when the issues started. What an unprofessional, immature and unpleasant person. Blonde woman with glasses, in her mid fifties, so you can avoid her. The manager explained the charge and I again explained that this was not me, and was also nearly one year ago. She started pulling faces and being sarcastic. After some discussion she said, ok I’ll just charge you for your pedicure today. She said £45. I said, the girl just said it was £40, and when I phoned last week they said it was £35-38. She said, they’re wrong and that never happened. Continued pulling faces. To get away from this, I paid £45, which is a complete rip off for a very mediocre pedicure. I said very politely to her, I won’t be coming here again. To which she screeched, ‘You’re barred!’. Honestly, over £15 that was your own mistake? Times must be hard!
What was a mediocre pedicure became a very nasty experience with this highly unprofessional and unpleasant woman. I can only assume she was a playground bully at school, and this is the behaviour she has continued through her life. Avoid this dreadful unprofessional salon at all costs. B Salon in Dover Street is excellent and I would heartily recommend customers go there instead.
If you think my experience is isolated, just look at the other poor google reviews, where the owner has turned very nasty on even her regular customers.
I have been going to this salon since 2021, getting my hair done regularly by Asha who is a fantastic hair dresser, and my nails every 3 weeks for months by Amie, who is a fantastic nail tech. However today I had a very upsetting experience with someone different who was doing my nails for the first time. After asking very politely if I could have my french tips done thinner than she did them as they looked like splodges of varnish on my nail, she proceeded to tell me “she’s not a robot“ and that my nails are all differently shaped that’s why they look different, bare in mind she did the shape so why are they all different. I’m not one for confrontation hence I was extra polite when asking for this change which I am allowed to do as a customer and got made to feel anxious by her being incredibly rude. I am attaching a photo of how uneven the nails where in the end after numerous times of asking her to get them even and she still couldn’t do that I gave up. Since this experience I found out someone from my university has also had her nails done by her outside the salon and found her to be incredibly rude and attempting to be intimidating when asked to change a simple thing on a design. Disappointed as the rest of the girls at the salon are fantastic. The main issue was the rudeness not even the poor nail art skills.
I have had acrylics, gels, manicures, insane nail art, pedicures, massages, haircuts, hair colour, fringes and bought vouchers for everyone i know and i have never received less than excellent service. It is only salon I recommend; even to strangers in other who stop me to compliment me on my hair and nails.
The atmosphere is relaxing, welcoming and like family. There is nothing these ladies won't do to make you feel appreciated and like you are the favourite client. The customer service is unparalleled.
I visited here for over two years
Recently they decided to stop doing the service I had and didn’t bother to tell me. I feel so let down by how they treated me
Terrible customer service and bad business practise!
