My mum lives in Italy, so unfortunately she cannot be a regular customer at HOB Mill Hill. However, whenever she is in London, there is now only one person she wants to look after her hair: Monica.
Monica first did my mum’s hair around three years ago during a previous visit to London. We were so impressed that, when my parents visited again this year, I specifically booked my mum with her. Amazingly, Monica remembered us after all that time – even my mum’s name!
My mum speaks very little English, so I accompany her and translate. Monica was incredibly patient, warm and attentive, taking the time to communicate through me, understand exactly what my mum wanted and make sure she felt comfortable and involved throughout. Nothing ever felt rushed.
What really sets Monica apart is that she doesn’t simply provide the service booked. She genuinely cares about doing what is best for her clients. She carefully assessed my mum’s hair and gave us thoughtful, professional advice about her colour, how to make her hair appear thicker and fuller, and the style that would suit her best. Her knowledge and experience are obvious, and her advice felt completely genuine rather than an attempt to sell additional services.
The finished result was beautiful.
Monica is clearly an exceptionally talented and professional hairdresser, but what makes her truly outstanding is the personal touch she brings alongside that expertise. She combines skill with kindness, patience and genuine care. The way she looked after my mum honestly felt like the attention you would give to someone in your own family.
