I had an appointment yesterday with Millie, I was very keen to change style from a bob to a shorter cut. I am so pleased with the result, it is exactly how I imagined it would look, absolutely delighted, feel like a new woman!!
Not sure what the previous lady above was talking about, but I found this salon recently and I have to say that in a day and age where people are in a rush to get everywhere and not interested in eachother, this place was a breath of fresh air! Traditional Service, the gent on reception held the door open for me as I arrived, wished me a good morning and asked me about my day and took a genuine interest. Makes a change from the people looking up from a computer screen and grunting 'hi' at me as I walk in. The consultation was thorough, right down to what I do with my hair each morning. I've had it before where a hairdressers have given me a style that takes half an hour of blowdrying each morning. Needless to say it doesn't last long! I now blast it in the morning with a hairdryer and take a brush to it for 2 minutes and it's done. They took my natural hair texture and my lifestyle into consideration which is a million miles away from what I've been talking to other salons
If you like to be fawned over and pampered this might be the salon for you. I found that the compliments given by staff insincere and made me cringe - but it could be amusing as you hear similar compliments being given to all customers almost on cue. As the salon is supose to be one of the best in the area I tried for over a year to believe that because it was expensive it must be good! In truth I felt I was paying for the name and frills and use of the massage chair (which is very nice). The colour and cut were never what I hoped for - nothing awful, but not good. I have since found another salon locally which I am really happy with where they really listened to what I wanted and did it first time and less than half the price of Tommy's.
