Hi, I went to the salon in Claremont today for a hair cut. I was greeted very politely and was squeezed in, even without an appointment. My appointment was going quite well until I was offered something to drink. I chose a coffee, which never arrived... The girl who cut my hair was lovely and sweet and continued to offer me extra treatments which I kindly declined. Upon the completion of the main part of my haircut (i was trimming my hair and also my fringe, which she had not yet started), she began blow-drying my hair. I got a bit worried because as a student I know anything extra like a blow-dry is usually an additional cost so I asked her whether it was included in the price or I would be paying extra (bear in mind I stated multiple times I want NOTHING MORE THAN A HAIRCUT). She said it was included and continued to blow dry my hair before continuing to cut my fringe which was strange to me, but I went along with it. When I went to pay and was told the bill I felt my heart stop. $150... for a haircut. A simple haircut with a shortening of my already there fringe. I understand the salon has a reputation but $150!?!?!?! With no student discounts?? This must be a joke. On top of that, my haircut was crooked. Everyone I had asked that day (family & friends) had told me that the right side of my hair was VISIBLY longer than the left. Now, if I'm paying $150 for a haircut it at least better be even!!

The girl who cut my hair isn't on the choices of stylists to review on this site, however, I would rather not publicly embarrass her online. She was a sweet girl but obviously had bad lighting or a bad angle, or possibly is not qualified enough.
I don't understand how you can charge $150 for a haircut and justify it... especially with poor results. While the girls were polite and kind, I wouldn't go back to the salon because of the price tag and the quality of the end product.

Shane knows what to do better than me and is always great company. Knowledge and skill are fab! Same goes for Tina, my colourist. I just sit down and relax, knowing it’s going to be looked after. Very happy, which is why I keep coming back (must be nearly 20 years now!)

In the two years of visiting of MM - Claremont, the entire experience is something the entire staff should be commended on. Consistently offering the highest service and expertise. Thank you!

My cut and colour is great, Sarah is a fabulous stylist. The booking process needs to improve though, 3 times at this salon and each booking has had issues. Wrong appt times, not notified that Sarah had moved salons, miscommunication. Me Style had better service but I went to Maurice Mead because of Sarah. Please have a review of your booking processes.

Sarah did a fabulous and artistic hair colour for me today. Beforehand, it was a textureess all over washed out blond. After: rich splices of honey which shadowed the existing blond tones. Perfect. The lighting in the salon isn’t the best but I really appreciated it fully when I got home. Thanks ???

The service is always consistent, friendly and helpful. I usually see Tina and Tiah and I always feel like a million dollars when I leave there!
Genuinely nice people who genuinely understands the art of not only making conversation but also understanding the silent moments.
Their help and guidance regarding my hair is definitely appreciated and always very positive, even when I feel negative about the state of my hair.
All the staff, from the front desk, booking over the phone to the girl/guy who check up on you to see if you need more water or coffee are friendly.
There is definitely no place like Maurice Meade Claremont!

Shampoo 10/10. After several requests for no cream products , several were slipped in .as I suspected hair is now limp and flat .i will have to redo tomorrow prior to event or stick in a pony tail ! My blow dry with mouse normally lasts a week and only washed because feels gritty ! Total waste of time and money

Just had my hair blow dried ! My shampoo wa 10/10 .
However knowing my hair well I requested no cream products a mouse at the most as I explained it makes my hair limp and blow wave does not hold ! As I suspected after several products being slipped on my hair is now limp and flat for my event tomorrow ! So looks like I will have to redo tomorrow . Very annoying as a good blow dry can last me a week ! Total waste !

From the beginning I felt Shelley knew what look I wanted to achieve and I put my hair in her hands and said do what ever you need to, to achieve the look I want :) when it was time to wash it all off Tiah was super gental and my head massage was amazing I almost fell asleep!! She also explained Smartbond to me and benefits it has.. I will be purchasing in the future!

Had an excellent cut n colour with Sarah, but hair wash was a drenching. I was given extra towels to stem the flow of water down my neck. Wet clothes after. Not great!
